The four mindfulnesses, the four right abandonments, the four legs of miraculous power, the five faculties, the five powers, the seven branches of enlightenment, the noble eightfold path, the ten powers of the Thus-gone One, the four fearlessnesses, the four specific perfect knowledges, and up to the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. These are called uncontaminated dharmas. Conditioned Dharmas. Asked: Blessed One, what are conditioned dharmas? The Blessed One replied: Noble son, what are called conditioned dharmas are: the desire realm, the form realm, the formless realm, and also any slight dharma that exists apart from the three realms, as well as the thirty-seven dharmas of the wings of enlightenment, and up to the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. These are called conditioned dharmas. Unconditioned Dharmas. Asked: Blessed One, what are unconditioned dharmas? The Blessed One replied: Noble son, whatever has no arising and no ceasing, and no change from abiding to something else, namely: the exhaustion of desire, the exhaustion of hatred, the exhaustion of delusion, suchness that is not mistaken, suchness that is not other, the nature of dharma, the sphere of dharma, the abiding nature of dharma, the determined nature of dharma, the inconceivable sphere, and the limit of reality. Noble son, these are called unconditioned dharmas. Common Dharmas. Asked: Blessed One, what are common dharmas? The Blessed One replied: Noble son, the four concentrations, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, and the five clairvoyances. These are called dharmas common to ordinary beings. Uncommon Dharmas. Asked: Blessed One, what are uncommon dharmas? The Blessed One replied: Noble son, the thirty-seven dharmas of the wings of enlightenment, the ten powers of the Thus-gone One, the four fearlessnesses, the four specific perfect knowledges, and up to the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha.

By practicing the perfection of wisdom, one should not be attached to all phenomena that are empty of their own characteristics, because there is no conception and no discrimination. One should realize that all phenomena are of a non-dual nature. This is the instruction on the object of practice. The purpose of practice. Great Mind. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, for what reason is it said that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is so called? Blessed One, why is one called a Bodhisattva Mahasattva?" The Blessed One replied: "Subhuti, in this case, one will become the supreme of a great mass of beings and a great assembly of beings, therefore one is called a Bodhisattva Mahasattva." He asked: "Blessed One, of whom will the Bodhisattva Mahasattva become the supreme, the great mass of beings and the great assembly of beings?" The Blessed One replied: "Subhuti, the great mass of beings and the great assembly of beings are as follows: the lineage ground, the eighth, the stream-enterer, the once-returner, the non-returner, the Arhat, the Pratyekabuddha, the Bodhisattva who has generated the mind, and up to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who abides on the irreversible ground. Subhuti, this is called the great mass of beings and the great assembly of beings, and the Bodhisattva Mahasattva will become their supreme. In this case, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva generates the vajra-like mind. One will become the supreme of the great mass of beings and the great assembly of beings." He asked: "Blessed One, what is the generation of the vajra-like mind?" The Blessed One replied: "Subhuti, in this case, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva thinks thus: 'For the sake of all sentient beings, I have donned armor in immeasurable samsara, and I have completely given away all possessions. I shall generate equanimity towards all sentient beings. I shall

All should be completely liberated from sorrow by the three vehicles. I will completely liberate all beings from sorrow, but no being will actually be liberated from sorrow. Why is that? Because I must realize that all dharmas are unborn. I should practice the six perfections with a mind unmixed with the knowledge of all aspects. I should train in all that follows realization. I should realize that the nature of all dharmas is one. I should train in the dharmas for the purpose of realizing the manifestation of the perfections. I should train in the dharmas for the purpose of realizing the manifestation of the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. I should train in the dharmas for the purpose of realizing the manifestation of meditation, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, and the superknowledges. I should train in the dharmas for the purpose of realizing the manifestation of the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, thus generating the mind. Subhuti, this is where the bodhisattva-mahasattvas abide, generating a vajra-like mind by not contemplating the great assembly of beings and the excellence of the great category of beings. Furthermore, Subhuti, the bodhisattva-mahasattva should generate this thought: For the sake of those beings in hell, those born as animals, and those beings in the realm of Yama, however many are experiencing the feeling of suffering, I should experience those feelings of suffering. The bodhisattva-mahasattva should generate this thought: Until those beings are completely liberated into nirvana without remainder, for the sake of each being, even for many billions of trillions of eons, until they are liberated into that realm of nirvana without remainder, those hell beings
