The second taught by the scriptures, understanding the aspects of the path, also has four aspects: the basis for generating understanding of the aspects of the path, the object, the pervasiveness, the nature, the function, as well as understanding the path of the Hearers, understanding the path of the Solitary Buddhas, and understanding the path of the Buddhas. Among these, the basis is taught from the beginning of the twenty-second chapter, starting with "Then in this great trichiliocosm world system." The determination of the object is also the words of the sutra. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said this to the venerable Subhuti: "Venerable Subhuti, in this great trichiliocosm world system," and so on, up to "You should generate the mind of enlightenment." The pervasiveness is that the Great Vehicle itself also teaches the path of the Hearers. This is also the words of the sutra. From "Those who have entered the truly flawless path" to "I do not obstruct the virtuous side," and so on. The nature and function are taught implicitly. Entering flawlessly does not have the power to generate the mind of enlightenment, because it is cutting off samsara, so generating the mind of enlightenment and benefiting beings as long as samsara exists is its nature. If one abides in samsara, benefiting sentient beings, that is its function. Understanding the path of the Hearers. Understanding the path of the Hearers in the manner of the Four Noble Truths is also the words of the sutra. From " कौशिका, what is the Perfection of Wisdom of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva?" onwards, it is taught, and suffering and its origin are taught from "Form is impermanent, one should pay attention to it," and so on. Cessation is the words of the sutra. From "With the attention of possessing all aspects of knowledge, ignorance ceases, so actions cease," and so on. The path is also the words of the sutra. From " कौशिका, furthermore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with the mind of possessing all aspects of knowledge, cultivates the four mindfulnesses," and so on. The cause of understanding the Four Noble Truths, the heat of definitive discrimination, is also the words of the sutra. From " कौशिका, form is empty of form," and so on. The peak is also the words of the sutra. कौशिका, here, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, in the manner of focusing on form
