First, for beings who like brevity, a brief explanation is given out of a desire to benefit them. Second, for those who like elaboration, an elaborate explanation is also given, as stated in the sutra: "The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the past, future, and present, also pay attention to the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom," and so on. Third, for those who do not diligently practice the meaning as it is taught, and therefore are not fully embraced by the Buddhas, as stated in the sutra: "The Bodhisattva Mahasattva is the realm of those with sharp faculties," and so on. Fourth, because of arising and ceasing, there is no merit of the path associated with liberation, as stated in the sutra: "Subhuti, therefore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, one should hope that one will also attain the dharmas attained by the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the past, future, and present," and so on. Fifth, because it does not possess the cause of truly arising, there is no merit of the path of seeing, as stated in the sutra: "A Bodhisattva Mahasattva who strives in this way will quickly awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment," and so on. Sixth, because there is no future, there is no merit of the path of meditation, as stated in the sutra: "Subhuti, furthermore, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, even just snapping one's fingers is practicing the Perfection of Wisdom," and so on. Seventh, tranquility and so on are the paths associated with Nirvana, as stated in the sutra: "Bhagavan, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the Perfection of Wisdom? How should one realize the Perfection of Wisdom?" and so on. Eighth, realizing emptiness itself is the path of seeing, as stated in the sutra: "If someone says, 'How should one realize the Perfection of Wisdom?'" and so on. Ninth, no self-nature is the path of meditation, as stated in the sutra: "If someone says, 'How

Thus, it is indicated by phrases such as "one should meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom." Regarding the object of grasping on the path of meditation, the second type of conceptualization is divided into nine categories. The first is that Bodhicitta does not arise due to being separated from a virtuous friend, which is also stated in the Sutra: "Asked: O Bhagavan, for how long should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the Perfection of Wisdom to be considered practicing the Perfection of Wisdom?" and so on. Secondly, due to the lack of particularly excellent merit directed towards the Buddha, the essence of Bodhi is not kept in mind, which is also stated in the Sutra: "Asked: O Bhagavan, how should one practice so that the stream of thought is continuous, unbroken, and constantly connected?" and so on. Thirdly, those of the Shravaka lineage, and fourthly, those of the Pratyekabuddha lineage, precisely because of this, giving to them is abandoned first, which is also stated in the Sutra: "Conditioned or unconditioned, the Dharma of Shravakas or the Dharma of Pratyekabuddhas, even among all Dharmas, cannot be designated." This and what follows indicate this. Fifthly, because the Perfection of Wisdom is without obscuration, perfect and complete enlightenment is not kept in mind, which is also stated in the Sutra: "The Bhagavan said: Subhuti, non-action is the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom by a Bodhisattva Mahasattva." and so on. Sixth, meditating with an object, and seventh, not meditating because there is no object, and eighth, because there is neither an object nor no object, there is neither meditation nor non-meditation, which is also stated in the Sutra: "Asked: O Bhagavan, in what way does one become without an object? In what way does one become with an object?" and so on. Ninth, due to perverse clinging, the conceptualization that grasps what is not in accordance with reality is also stated in the Sutra: "Asked: O Bhagavan, if all Dharmas are unmade and unchanging, then, O Bhagavan, how can these three vehicles, the Shravaka Vehicle, the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle, and the Buddha Vehicle, be distinguished?" and so on. Among the conceptualizations of grasping, the first category is divided into nine types, the first of which is that the mind does not arise as something substantially existent.
