Therefore, it is taught by the Three Jewels and others in as many kalpas as the sands of the Ganges, apart from the Perfection of Wisdom. The great among the small is also taught in the sutra: "Furthermore, Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, abiding for as many kalpas as the sands of the Ganges, apart from the Perfection of Wisdom, and giving alms to those who have entered the stream," and so on. The small among the medium is also taught in the sutra: "Subhuti, what do you think? The Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, apart from the Perfection of Wisdom, abiding for as many kalpas as the sands of the Ganges, and giving alms," and so on. The medium among the medium is also taught in the sutra: "Subhuti, what do you think? The Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, apart from the Perfection of Wisdom, abiding for as many kalpas as the sands of the Ganges, if he gives the Dharma alms," and so on. The great among the medium is also taught in the sutra: "Subhuti, what do you think? The Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, apart from the Perfection of Wisdom, diligently applying himself to the four mindfulnesses for as many kalpas as the sands of the Ganges," and so on. The small among the great is also taught in the sutra: "Subhuti, what do you think? The Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, apart from the Perfection of Wisdom, abiding for as many kalpas as the sands of the Ganges, and giving material alms and Dharma alms," and so on. The medium among the great is also taught in the sutra: "Subhuti, what do you think? A son or daughter of good family, apart from the Perfection of Wisdom, abiding for as many kalpas as the sands of the Ganges, to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have appeared in the past, have not yet appeared, and are appearing now," and so on. The great among the great is also taught in the sutra: "When this was said, the venerable Subhuti said to the Bhagavat: Bhagavat, all that is manifestly accumulated is conceptualized," and so on, as the Bhagavat said. In the ultimate sense, immeasurable merit, etc., do not...

Even the object of focus, in the conventional sense, becomes a common cause of compassion, and immeasurable merits and so on also arise, as explained in the sutra. Subhuti asked: "Bhagavan, what is the difference between countless, immeasurable, and limitless? What is the distinction?" and so on, as explained in the sutra. Regarding the unspeakable, the sutra also refutes the view that there is no decrease and no increase. As it is said in the sutra: "Having said this, the venerable Subhuti said to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, the suchness of all dharmas that the Tathagata has spoken of, this unspeakable suchness is truly wonderful!" and so on, as explained in the sutra. The answer to this is that by dedicating to enlightenment as it is, one can accomplish the desired meaning in the conventional sense. The sutra also explains that in the ultimate sense, there is no increase or decrease, so there is no fault. As it is said in the sutra: "Subhuti, it is just so, it is just so. In the meaning of the unspeakable, there is no increase or complete decrease." The following verses also explain this principle. Even so, the sutra also refutes the view that it cannot accomplish benefit even in the conventional sense. Subhuti asked: "Bhagavan, does the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who first generates the mind attain the unexcelled perfect enlightenment?" and so on, as explained in the sutra. The answer to this is that the analogy of the lamp explains that one will understand the eight profound dharmata. As it is said in the sutra: "The Bhagavan said: "Subhuti, for a wise person, the meaning of what is said through analogy will be understood, therefore, in order to understand the meaning of what is said, I will show you an analogy." and so on, as explained in the sutra. The first profound dharmata is that it is neither prior nor subsequent moment, nor is it without self-nature, and after thoroughly realizing it, one can generate a special meaning, which is the profound dependent origination. As it is said in the sutra: "The Bhagavan said: "Subhuti, likewise, even the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who first generates the mind will not attain the unexcelled perfect enlightenment." and so on, as explained in the sutra. Things from the beginning have no self-nature,
