It is in order to attain the path that transcends the world. Among these, the nine successive abidings in meditative absorption are aspects, as it is taught. It is said that the reason for holding the nine successive abidings in meditative absorption as without object is this. The path of abandonment, which is based on the four truths, is the immediate path. Among these, the four truths are aspects, as it is taught. It is said that the reason for holding origination and cessation as without object is this. The path of the Buddhas themselves is the ten perfections. Among these, the ten perfections are aspects, as it is taught. It is said that the reason for holding the ten perfections as without object is this. Therefore, the antidotal path, the illusory path, the path of dwelling in bliss in the present life, the path that transcends the world, the path of abandonment, and the path of the Buddhas—considering these in their own nature, in order, are three, three, five, nine, four, and ten. The aspects that are the basis of knowledge of the path become thirty-four. Among these, the path of the knowledge of all aspects, although it is unique because it is extremely excellent, one should speak of the uncommon differences of aspects due to the distinctions of powers and fearlessness, and so forth. Here, the ten powers are aspects, as it is taught. It is said that the reason for holding all phenomena as without object is this. The aspect of phenomena is the attainment of the nature of phenomena, as it is taught. It is said that the reason for holding the knowledge of the aspect of the path as without object is this. Having made the nature of knowing all paths manifest, individual knowledge is an aspect, as it is taught. It is said that the reason for holding the knowledge of all aspects as without attachment and without obstruction is this. The experience of the realization of wisdom that individually and correctly knows, in order, the number of all things, the nature of phenomena, the languages of regions, and the objects of the various distinctions of phenomena, is because of being without attachment, and because of being without obstruction by abandoning the obscurations of knowledge—this is the meaning. The unmixed qualities of the Buddhas are aspects,

This does not refer to land. It is because of holding on to transcendence of all dharmas. Unmixed means that whatever is the opposing dharma that is incompatible with this, it is regarded as having completely transcended it. In the Sutra, it says: A Bhikshu Arhat who has exhausted the outflows, sometimes when wandering for alms in a city, may encounter a fierce elephant, or an untamed horse, or a beaten ox, or a dog with saliva, etc. He may enter a dense forest or a thorn forest, or step on a black snake with his foot. He may enter a house in such a manner. Or in a place where women do not live, he may be invited as a guest by someone who speaks contemptuously. Or he may enter a monastery, or get lost. Losing his way, he may go with thieves and enemies. Lions, tigers, and the wives of others, if they treat him in that way, an Arhat may be confused, but the Tathagata does not have such a thing in all of everything. Furthermore, sometimes an Arhat may get lost while walking in a quiet, dense forest, make noise in an empty house, make a commotion, cry out like losing a loved one, and be driven by the faults of habit to arise afflictions, laugh loudly and show his teeth, and smile in a contemptuous manner. The Tathagata does not have such a commotion with various characteristics in all of everything. The Tathagata does not lose mindfulness, because he does not follow the speech caused by the afflicted mind. Furthermore, an Arhat generates a completely incompatible perception of the aggregates, and has a peaceful perception of Nirvana without remainder. The Tathagata does not have various perceptions of the aggregates and Nirvana, because he abides in the most supreme equanimity. Furthermore, an Arhat enters into Samadhi and then abides in equanimity, but when arising, he is not in Samadhi. The Tathagata never does not abide in equanimity at any time. Furthermore, an Arhat, after separately examining, adopts an attitude of equanimity towards the matter of benefiting sentient beings, while the Tathagata is this this.
