When practicing, with the aspect, sign, and name of space, entering into meditation and formless absorptions, and when entering and arising from them, dedicating the roots of virtue to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, this is taught as the Great Vehicle. Among these, regarding the aspect, sign, and name of space, from "being separated by aspect means being separated by desire, sinful and unwholesome dharmas," to "sign is with investigation and analysis," and "name is the joy born from separation," and so on, are all explained. The distinction between the lower and upper realms is the form of grossness and peace. Whichever realm has whichever feeling, that is the sign. The name is experiencing the taste of absorption. The practice of the six perfections is: with the attention that possesses all-knowing wisdom, teaching the Dharma in order to completely abandon the afflictions of sentient beings, this itself is the Great Vehicle of generosity. Not opening the opportunity for the mind of the Lesser Vehicle is the perfection of discipline. With that Great Vehicle of patience, the attention of teaching the Dharma in order to exhaust the afflictions of sentient beings, for those patience, faith, realization, understanding, and thought, that is the Great Vehicle of patience. Merely the initial joy without disagreement is faith. The second moment and so on, continuously connected, is patience. Rationally thinking about various other treatises is approximation. In order to accomplish the meaning of complete examination, and knowing the causes that harm it, is understanding. In order to have faith in that meaning, harming with all of one's intelligence is thought. The attention that does not cause diligence to diminish is the Great Vehicle of diligence. That first dhyana and so on, and the formless absorptions, are the Great Vehicle of meditation. That all-knowing.

The first branch of meditation with mindfulness, thoroughly understanding impermanence, suffering, selflessness, peace, emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, is revealed as the Great Vehicle of Prajnaparamita. The path to enter the noble path, which includes the aspects of enlightenment and the gates of liberation, up to non-mixture, and cultivating omniscience, is revealed as the Great Vehicle. Its sutra states: The Great Vehicle of the Bodhisattva is to cultivate the thirty-seven aspects of enlightenment in all ways, and so on. Entering the immeasurable realm, which is to practice the four immeasurables, with the patience of omniscience, which is the perfection of patience, and with the Great Vehicle of the perfection of diligence, not mixing with the mind of the lower vehicle, with the Great Vehicle of the perfection of wisdom, which is without tasting the flavor of meditation, with the Great Vehicle of the perfection of meditation, which is to enter into the four immeasurables, with the Great Vehicle of the perfection of generosity, which is to surely lead sentient beings to the exhaustion of defilements, with the Great Vehicle of the perfection of discipline, which is to completely dedicate meditation and the immeasurables, as well as signs and characteristics, to omniscience, this has been revealed. This order of perfections is based on the actions of a person who abides in the four immeasurables, and it should be known that such a thing is possible for them. Furthermore, there are four immeasurables: loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, and each of these has three aspects: focusing on sentient beings, focusing on phenomena, and without focus. Among these, focusing on sentient beings is established by four causes: close association, the opposing antidote, complete purification, and complete holding of the fruit. How is it closely associated? It is closely associated with three kinds of happiness.

Therefore, that which is called a mind endowed with loving-kindness abides closely in the sense of being closely gathered by benefit and happiness. That which is called vast is because it is gathered by the happiness of indulging in desire. That which is called having become great is the meaning of being the ground of the first and second dhyanas, which are accompanied by joy. Because there is joy in those two. That which is called non-dual is a synonym for the ground of the third dhyana, which is without joy. Because it is itself free from suffering, it is non-dual. That which is called immeasurable is to be known as immeasurable itself, like the confluence of the waters of the four great rivers, because the fruit is immeasurable. Thus, it is also said to be endowed with happiness and so forth. Thus, for the time being, it is itself closely gathered. How is it the very side of the opposing force of the incompatible? That which is called unattached is because it is the opponent of malice, which is the contradiction of being closely gathered by the unpleasant and being closely gathered by the pleasant. How is it pure? That which is called harmless and without obscuration is because one enters into that very nature after abandoning the obscurations of sleep, drowsiness, excitement, and regret in the order in which they occur. Completely grasping the fruit is called non-harming. The maturation of the desire realm and the form realm,
