It is taught that it is called "transformation." Now, how does enlightenment arise? The phrase "by the example of the lamp known in the world" is to make it known that generating Bodhicitta by the example of the essence, both include the fruit. Because Bodhicitta becomes the object of (practicing) the ten bhumis, understanding that attaining unsurpassed perfect enlightenment is the first Bodhicitta, and it is taught that without relying on later practice, one cannot realize manifest enlightenment. What should be known here? The phrase "the profound Dharma nature has eight aspects" is to connect the occasion of this teaching with the phrase "should be followed." How are there eight aspects? There are eight profound aspects. What are they? Birth and cessation, as well as Suchness and knowable objects, knowledge and conduct, as well as non-duality, skillful means are profound. This is taught by these words. Among them, birth is profound because it is not those, nor from anything other than those, so the perfect complete enlightenment is because dependent origination is profound, the arising of the mind that ceases is cessation itself, this is how it is taught. As it is said in the sutra: "Subhuti, what do you think? Will the mind that has ceased arise again later?" The Blessed One said, "No, it will not." Cessation is profound because whatever mind arises is the nature of cessation, so that which has the nature of Dharma, that cessation is prevented, this is how it is taught. As it is said in the sutra: "Subhuti, what do you think? Is that which has arisen of the nature of cessation?" The Blessed One said, "It is of the nature of cessation." "Subhuti, what do you think? Will that which has the nature of cessation cease again?" He replied, "Blessed One, it will not." This is how it is said. What does it mean? Because at the very moment of arising, it clearly tends towards cessation. What else will cease? Suchness is profound, because Suchness abides in it as it is, so it is considered an inconceivable object. Because it will become the nature of the ultimate reality. Therefore, it is taught that Suchness is profound. As it is said in the sutra: Suchness as it is

It is said that profound suchness abides, and from there it is proclaimed. Whatever is known that is profound, it is shown that it is because the mind is not different from suchness itself. As it is said in the sutra: "Whatever is suchness, it is said that it is because it is not other than the inconceivable." The profound knowledge is shown to be that suchness does not see suchness. As it is said in the sutra: "Again, suchness does not see suchness," it is said. Profound conduct is shown to be that such conduct does not conduct to anything. It is shown that conduct in the Prajnaparamita is profound. As it is said in the sutra: "Why is that? It is said that it is because abiding in suchness does not give rise to the pervasiveness of prediction and so on." Profound non-duality is shown to be that the practitioner of ultimate truth does not practice in duality. It is shown that there is no union of the characteristics of a Bodhisattva and the thought of no characteristics. Profound skillful means is the skillful means of preventing the attainment of perfect enlightenment without having perfected the ten powers and so on up to the unique qualities of the Buddha, and it is the skillful means of preventing the attainment of perfect enlightenment by preventing any phenomena, things, and non-things. Why is that? It is shown that abiding in the knowledge that the self-nature of all phenomena is emptiness is the skill of thoroughly establishing sentient beings who practice in those and those unfavorable conditions in those and those antidotal conditions, and of maturing sentient beings. The explanation of the characteristics of the Sangha of the non-returning Bodhisattva student who abides on the path of meditation. The explanation of the equality of samsara and nirvana. After showing the Sangha of the non-returning Bodhisattva student, the equality of samsara and nirvana should be spoken of. What is the need to show the Sangha of the non-student? This alone is not to be studied, but how is this to be abandoned, and the completely purified
