How does one teach the Prajnaparamita by making it the object of attention? "How should I practice?" refers to explaining the Prajnaparamita by making the path of meditation the object of attention. Therefore, with regard to the four aspects corresponding to the decisive part, as well as the path of seeing and the path of meditation, the six words, such as practice, attention, complete understanding, diligence, and effort, are similarly spoken. If asked, what is the object of the path of meditation? The answer is: Because it is continuous. It is said that there is no fault because the object of the latter is the former. The three benefits of the path of meditation are: because it completely holds the immeasurable roots of virtue, just as in the example of a man who makes an appointment with another's wife and gives a signal, thereby generating many realizations, immeasurable merit is generated, thereby abandoning samsara for countless eons and turning one's back on it. The words "karma is exhausted," "eliminated," and "previously unborn" are taught to make it known that it is the function of the path of meditation. If it is how many kinds? The answer is: Because it is continuous. Small, medium, and large, etc., are divided into small, etc., and are considered to be nine kinds. After this teaching, it should be combined with the unfavorable and favorable aspects. Here, the fundamental classification is the three kinds of small, medium, and large, and each of these three is further divided into small, medium, and large, which becomes nine kinds, namely, small of small, small of medium, small of large, medium of small, medium of medium, medium of large, large of small, large of medium, and large of large, a total of nine kinds. Just as with the favorable aspect, the unfavorable aspect should also be understood in the same way. Among them, the small of the small path starts from abandoning the large of the large conceptualization, and up to the large of the large path abandoning the small of the small conceptualization, all are with conceptualizations that have number, are measurable, and have limits...

In terms of summarizing the path of meditation, the ninth antidote is the great among the great aspects of the path, which is summarized by the nine aspects of the path of meditation called "abiding in emptiness." It is taught that one should know that all three types of summarization—uncountable, immeasurable, and limitless—are not contradictory because they are inseparable from the Perfection of Wisdom and are encompassed by countless merits. What is the difference between uncountable and so on? What is the difference in their function? It is asked completely in order to closely represent their own characteristics. Because the realms of countable and uncountable are not the nature of samsara and nirvana. It is to be known that one realizes its equality through the uncountable itself. Because there is no measure for all times, it is to be known that one realizes its unconditionedness through the immeasurable itself. Because it cannot be measured, it is to be known that one realizes the inconceivable nature of the object of all-knowingness through the limitless itself. This is the close representation of the uncountable and so on. Making the nature the master of its own nature, because all phenomena are emptiness, therefore uncountable, immeasurable, and limitless are emptiness. If that is so, then the teachings of the uncountable and so on are not tolerable in the ultimate sense, because the nature of emptiness is not different. It is understood that there is no difference in expression and no difference in meaning. Those conventional truths are accepted by the Sugata, who is the cause of compassion. It is said that although one does not observe what is the meaning and the words are different, from uncountable to nirvana, this is unspeakable, and the Tathagata teaches it through the cause of compassion. If, by the cause of the Tathagata's compassion, it becomes the object of all these, then, as I understand the meaning spoken by the Bhagavan, all phenomena, in all aspects, manifest the aspect of enlightenment, and the Tathagata teaches that all phenomena are unspeakable. How is it?

I have explained that the emptiness of those is inexpressible. For an inexpressible thing, decrease and increase are impossible. Through the path called meditation, what will decrease and what will be gained? As it is said, what will decrease from the nine categories of great kinds of discriminations? As it is said, what will be gained from the nine categories of small kinds of paths? The refutation is that, for the meaning that is inexpressible, increase and complete decrease are prohibited. From the perfection of wisdom and so on, up to the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, increase and complete decrease are prohibited, so there is no opportunity to attain complete perfect enlightenment through all-knowingness. This has been explained. The response to this is: How is enlightenment, just like that, its intention accomplishes meaning. This indicates that it is synonymous with the path of meditation. By preventing the pride that arises in all things, just like the unsurpassed complete perfect enlightenment, by completely dedicating through attention and so on, it itself becomes a vessel. What is enlightenment like? Enlightenment is the characteristic of suchness, and it also takes that as its characteristic. This means that the suchness from form to nirvana is the unsurpassed complete perfect enlightenment. Therefore, by allowing the combination of increase and complete decrease of the perfection of wisdom, this has been explained. Thus, cause and effect, or effect and cause, naturally pass on to each other. It is said that the relationship of cause and effect occurs in a non-inverted way. Furthermore, having done so, the mind is not the previous enlightenment, nor is it the later kind. For this point, the mind that is first generated and the mind that is generated later do not touch each other. Since it will not become a collection of roots of virtue that are correctly accomplished in three countless eons, no sentient being will attain unsurpassed complete perfect enlightenment.
