Having known this, in order to combine the Perfection of Wisdom and skillful means and generate joy, the example of transforming into a great Garuda is used to illustrate that even if one is perfected with generosity and so on, if one is separated from the two, one will fall into the realm of the Shravakas and so on. Thus, the teaching shows that the two are essential for certain arising. Among them, that which possesses wings is called a bird. By this distinction, it is the bird itself. In order to know this, the word bird is mentioned. Thus, because one's own body is large but separated from wings, it is said to be destroyed. This is an explanation of the characteristics of self-nature. In any case, not all who diligently practice here will bear fruit. Without practicing here, there will be no result. Although this is so, for whom is it? For those who possess roots of virtue that are in accordance with the part of liberation. What kind of thing is in accordance with the part of liberation? It is taught: Without characteristics, supremely giving and so on, Those skilled in truly accomplishing, Those who realize all aspects, Here, they are considered to be in accordance with the part of liberation. Whoever completely realizes all aspects, this is based on the power of the roots of virtue that are in accordance with the part of liberation, taking it from the initial generation of the mind, and until the attainment of omniscience itself, giving generosity and so on without characteristics by skillful means, this is the act of allowing practice. This is also to be understood as the characteristics of faith, diligence, mindfulness, samadhi, and wisdom. Furthermore, why are the perceptions of characteristics such as generosity prohibited here? Because for the sake of extreme purity, the dharmas do not have the nature of dharma in the slightest, and cannot be observed. Due to the perception of characteristics, it is difficult to attain the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. By the perception of no characteristics, having become accustomed to the form of emptiness of all dharmas, it will be easy to attain perfect enlightenment. That which is the opposite of the perception of no characteristics is called delusion, because seeing bodhisattvas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River reversed, it is indeed difficult to attain the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment.

Thus it was said. The perception of signs is of four types: the perception of forms and so on, the perception of a person other than that, the perception of suchness, and the perception of dharma. Whoever lacks these is called without perception, and it is easier for him to awaken. Because one does not see forms and so on, and other than that, and suchness, and other dharmas contrary to that. Thus, since one does not see a Bodhisattva who is the opposite of suchness, the realm of dharma, the nature of dharma, the certainty of dharma, the ultimate truth, and the inconceivable realm, it is reasonable that it is easier to awaken. Although that is so, since there are no three types of Bodhisattvas such as those of the Hearer Vehicle, it would be a fault to assert that a Bodhisattva should not be considered as one. Such a fault would occur. Why is that? Starting from "Do you also assert that a Bodhisattva is one?" If one abides in truth, then if one does not see dharmas, how could it be so? It has been shown that it is reasonable not to accept a Bodhisattva as one or many. Truth is the truth of ultimate truth. Abiding means the meaning of being designated as a convention. Having shown the nature of being in accordance with the aspects of liberation, now the signs should be stated. By what signs should one know? There are three signs: because of fear of what is not the place. Complete dejection is because of constant fear. Turning away is the ultimate of complete fear. Because of obtaining what is not a vessel for them. Whatever is the opposite of that is the suchness of all dharmas. Having thoroughly examined the nature of omniscience, it has been shown that there is no difference between a Bodhisattva, a great being, and a Bodhisattva. Since the Bodhisattva who is considered in three ways is not seen, and the mind is not dejected and not afraid, etc., one will definitely attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, as it is said. Thus, a small root of virtue in accordance with the aspects of liberation and
