Therefore, all the noble beings such as Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the Buddha-fields of the ten directions pay attention to this, and those who are diligent in this, they will perform protection and other actions. Why? Because the Prajñāpāramitā produces the Buddhas and reveals the world, so it is said. This is an explanation of the obstructing dharmas. This is an explanation of the characteristics. Because after explaining the combinations, it is necessary to state its characteristics, therefore: What is symbolized as a characteristic? The knowable is also the knower, as well as the difference and three forms, whatever is the nature of the symbol. Thus it is said, and it should be understood that it transforms into four characteristics. Among them, in all the characteristics of knowledge, taking knowledge as the main thing, it will temporarily transform into sixteen forms. What are they? The appearance of the Tathāgata, the indestructible nature of the world, the actions of sentient beings' minds, as well as their collection, retrospection, the unbearable form, attachment and so on, and vastness, becoming great and immeasurable, as well as the non-demonstrable consciousness, the invisible mind and the knowable, the knowable such as shaking, and also these others, are the forms of suchness. The Able One realizes suchness, and the teaching of others, these are all in the case of all knowledge, the summary of the characteristics of knowledge. Thus it is said. Among them, the knowledge of the appearance of the Tathāgata refers to the explanation of the characteristics of knowledge from the perspective of manifesting complete enlightenment in all forms, up to the powers and so on. This is because from the ultimate attainment of omniscience in all forms, those dharmas that make one a Buddha are produced, so the Prajñāpāramitā is the mother of the Tathāgatas. Knowing that the world is indestructible refers to emptiness and so on, which are indestructible. In the sense of not being completely destroyed, the aggregates and so on are indestructible. Because it definitely shows the nature of dharmas such as not being completely destroyed, it is the world.

This indicates that it is manifested as the one who manifests. What is it that knows the conduct of the minds of all sentient beings? Knowing the conduct of all sentient beings depends on the Perfection of Wisdom, therefore, from the aggregates, etc., which are the cause of imputation as sentient beings, up to the Omniscient One, it manifests the world through the absence of any object of focus. Why is that? For the time being, the Perfection of Wisdom itself is also without an object of focus. And how is it? How could it be an object of focus when it exists up to the Omniscient One? From "How could it be an object of focus" to "the rationality has been shown," this indicates that. The so-called mind gathered and mind distracted means that for this Dharma-nature, that Dharma-nature is not focused on, and that itself is knowing exactly as it is the mind gathered and distracted of all sentient beings, this indicates that. Knowing the aspect of the unbearable mind is that also by those themselves, for the aspects of detachment, cessation, and abandonment, it is shown to fully know the aspect of the unbearable aspect. Knowing the mind with attachment is that whatever mind with attachment is, that is not the mind that is truly as it is. Why is that? Subhuti, the mind is truly without an object of focus. If the phenomena arising from the mind are also without an object of focus, then what need is there to mention knowing the mind with attachment, etc., as it truly is? This indicates that. Knowing the vast mind is that the nature of the mind is without an object of focus, therefore, making the vast mind vast, truly knowing as it is, this indicates that. Knowing the mind that has become great is that likewise truly knowing the mind that has become great,

Knowing that there is nowhere to see means that it has not appeared to the five eyes of the Tathagata, as previously shown. Knowing the movement of the mind, etc., means that the mind is scattered and gathered, etc., arising and occurring depending on the five aggregates, as before. Moreover, the so-called "I and the world are permanent," starting from "it is true, the rest is ignorance," the so-called "life is the body, the body is different, and life is different," refers to being shown based on consciousness. Such consciousness is that whatever suchness is, it is the suchness of the five aggregates, and it is complete knowledge by knowing and grasping, etc. The perfectly enlightened Buddha understands suchness and truly reveals and examines it for other beings, which means that Subhuti, such scattering of the mind, etc., is suchness, from the so-called "all dharmas are realized as suchness by the Prajnaparamita, and the Tathagata attains perfect enlightenment." Therefore, because this is the mother of the Tathagata, it thus shows the world. It is said that the Tathagata is born from the Prajnaparamita through the gate of omniscience, so it shows the world. Now, by generating the aspect of the path, knowing and showing the world, making thirteen kinds of freedom, emptiness is without characteristics.
