It is because of taking the absence of an object of focus as the proximate cause. The aspect of illusion is because of taking the absence of characteristics as the proximate cause. Thus, those five aspects, such as dreams, are in order as follows: all phenomena are without self-nature, without arising, without ceasing, primordially peaceful, and by nature completely beyond sorrow. This is to show the aspect of the path of meditation through the five. The six aspects of the path of seeing, which are the antidote to the obscuration of knowledge, are established as abandoning conceptualization. What are the six? It is said to abandon the conceptualization of all afflictions. The aspect of being without all afflictions is as it is said: because of the absence of an object of focus for all afflictions. Abandoning the conceptualization of purification is to show that there is no aspect of purification. It is because of taking the absence of an object of focus for the afflicted mind as the proximate cause. Abandoning the conceptualization of habitual patterns is to show that it is because of the absence of aspects, which is because of taking the absence of an object of focus for space as the proximate cause. Abandoning elaboration is to show what is called the aspect of elaboration. It is because of taking the destruction of all elaboration as the proximate cause. What is called elaboration should be understood as the arising of attachment to forms and other phenomena. Abandoning one's own conceptualization is to show that there is no aspect of prideful mind. It is because of taking the complete destruction of all pride as the proximate cause. Abandoning the conceptualization of complete deterioration is to show that it is the aspect of immovability. As it is said in the sutra: "Bhagavan, this is the perfection of immovability. Subhuti, it is because of taking the abiding in the nature of the dharma realm as the proximate cause." Thus, those aspects that are the basis of the truth of the path, with the distinction of the antidote to afflictions and the obscuration of knowledge, are fifteen in number. Having shown the nature of all-knowingness, the nature of path-knowingness should be spoken of. Here, one should truly see the order of the meaning of the truths as they are.

English

It should be done like that. What is the meaning? In terms of pervasive affliction and complete purification, the truth of origin and the truth of the path are the two causes. The truth of suffering and the truth of cessation are the two results. Therefore, it is said: Cause, path, suffering, and cessation, are arranged in order as four. These eight, seven, five, and fifteen are proclaimed as such. This is called "aspect of the occasion." Among them, the cause is desire, attachment, and joy, because it gives rise to rebirth. Thus it is said that the antidote to desire is the aspect of being free from attachment. Because it holds that attachment is without an object. In terms of the object one wants to create, the antidote to attachment is the aspect of non-abiding. Because it holds that all phenomena are without conceptualization. In terms of being without attachment to them, the antidote to existence is the aspect of peace. Because it holds that all phenomena are realized as they are, without error, as enlightenment. Thirst is the main factor that has not been pacified, so it is done like that. The distinctions of the origin are three: the origin of desire, the origin of hatred, and the origin of ignorance. Their antidote is the aspect of being without desire. Because it holds that desire is without an object. In terms of the nature of desire, it is also the aspect of being without hatred. Because it holds that hatred is without an object. It is the aspect of being without ignorance, because it holds that the darkness of ignorance is without an object. Extreme arising is universal discrimination, and the antidote to the arising of desire and so on is the antidote of being without affliction. Because it holds that there is no universal discrimination. The condition is attachment to sentient beings and the view of the perishable aggregate, because it is the condition of all things. The antidote is the aspect of being without sentient beings, so it is said.

It has been declared. It is because of embracing beings without any object of focus. Having done so, the cause is desire and joy. The origin is desire, hatred, and ignorance. The extreme arising is pervasive discrimination. The condition is what is manifestly clinging to sentient beings, which is the aspect of the basis of the truth of origin, becoming eightfold. Among them, in terms of the truth of the path, what is spoken is the aspect of immeasurability. It is because of embracing the non-arising of all phenomena. It is intended to open the opportunity for immeasurable sentient beings. Furthermore, how is it that the path opens the opportunity for immeasurable sentient beings? It has been declared that it is the aspect of non-discrimination in the two extremes. It is because of embracing the two extremes without any object of focus. It is intended to realize the equality of samsara and nirvana. Among them, the reason is the aspect of non-difference, as declared. It is because of embracing the non-difference of all phenomena. With the nature of non-difference, the entire path is one vehicle. If it is called reason, why is it complete? It has been declared that it is the aspect of non-attachment to superiority, which is declared because of embracing the transcendence of the enlightenment of hearers and solitary realizers. In terms of not desiring the inferior vehicle, the practice on it is the aspect of non-discrimination, as declared. It is because of embracing the non-object of focus of discrimination. In terms of the non-discrimination of action, the state of non-discrimination of individual objects is called practice. Furthermore, how is it that there is no discrimination of action in it? It has been declared that it is the aspect of immeasurability. It is because of embracing the measure of all phenomena without any object of focus. Because of completely abandoning what has been obtained, and the inferior attainment of what has not been obtained, and the non-discrimination of the supreme, therefore, the definite arising in it is the aspect of non-attachment, as declared. All phenomena
