and the path of the solitary student, the path of seeing the increased benefit of this and other qualities, practicing and also with faith, praising and honoring and extolling, dedicating and also rejoicing, attending to and also other, accomplishing and extremely purifying, this activity is the path of meditation, the knowledge of the path should be known as such. Thus it is taught. The connection is to be seen as following it. Explanation of the realization of the knowledge of the path from the treatise on the oral instructions of the Perfection of Wisdom. Third, the section on all-knowingness. Explaining by making the power of not abiding in samsara and nirvana. Having explained the knowledge of the path, now the all-knowingness itself is to be spoken of. Thereupon, for the time being, making the power of not abiding in samsara and nirvana, as it says: There is no near shore, far shore, or edge, nor does it abide in between them. Thus it is taught. How is it? If a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, then he does not perceive the edge of the near shore, or the edge of the far shore, or in the middle of both, because it is extremely pure. It is the prevention of closely perceiving the idea of samsara and nirvana. Furthermore, how are those two not perceived? Because of knowing the equality of the three times, it is considered the Perfection of Wisdom. Thus it is said. How is it? Because it is not perceived, Subhuti, the three times are the equality itself. It is reasonable that it is said to be closely taken. Explanation of being distant from the fruit mother. It is distant because of not having skillful means. Thus it is said. What is not having skillful means? Because of the door of perceiving characteristics. Thus it is said. How is it that by name alone the Perfection of Wisdom is made distant? Thus it is shown. The opposite of that is being skilled in skillful means, it should be seen as being close to it. Whoever, with an application that is different from the realization of the Hearers and so forth, then their realization is one-sided. Because it is said thus, they do not go to the ultimate completely, and after closely taking it, the path is well explained and well shown to be ultimate. Explanation of the opposing side. Making the power of the opposing side, form

The aggregates such as form are emptiness, all phenomena included in the three times, phenomena with and without outflows, and the aspects of enlightenment such as generosity, the aspect of cognition that is incompatible with practice. As it is said, if one is not skilled in means, one cognizes form as emptiness, and cognizes it as phenomena such as the past. Likewise, From the initial generation of the mind, one apprehends and cognizes generosity as the perfection of generosity. Similarly, cognizing the aspects of enlightenment and so forth up to omniscience is attachment. What is the antidote? Generosity and so forth are without self-grasping. As it is said, furthermore, Shariputra, the bodhisattva mahasattva who practices the perfection of wisdom, being skilled in means, does not cognize form as form, and so forth, not even thinking, "I shall attain omniscience." Showing the incompatible aspect is to negate all conceptualizations that are contrary to this. Why? Because it is reasonable to grasp all of emptiness, and because of skillful means, there is no attachment. Furthermore, the incompatible aspect is that Kausika, from the cognition of a bodhisattva arising in the mind, if one cannot be without attachment with attachment, then one is not practicing the perfection of wisdom without attachment. Showing the characteristic of attachment is, why? Because it is the negation of the self-grasping conceptualization from form up to omniscience. Explanation of the antidote. The aspect of the antidote is, furthermore, to apply effort to that, which prevents the extreme of attachment. As it is shown, as it is said, furthermore, to negate self-grasping in that, one should give such teachings, one should give such encouragement, and one should generate such joy, these can abandon all extremes of attachment. To those with all afflictions and negligence, all timidity and those who have entered into timidity, one should give such teachings, one should give such encouragement, and one should generate such joy, and so forth.

Furthermore, it should be understood that those who generate true joy should be cultivated in order. This is what is taught. Also, subtle attachment to kings and so on. What is taught is that dedicating and rejoicing in the roots of virtue of those Tathagatas, and also clinging to signs, is what is taught as subtle attachment. Furthermore, why is that aspect called attachment? Because it is said in the sutra: The path of Dharma is empty in nature, therefore it is profound. This means that because all dharmas are empty in nature, the Prajnaparamita is profound. Furthermore, how are all attachments abandoned? The sutra teaches: All dharmas are of one nature, and attachment is abandoned through knowledge. This means that knowing the nature of all dharmas as one means that the knower and the known become one, and therefore it is possible to completely abandon the limits of attachment. Furthermore, why is this Prajnaparamita profound? Because it is said in the sutra: By blocking seeing and so on, it is said to be difficult to realize. This means that because seeing, hearing, feeling, and knowing are blocked, it is difficult to realize, so it indirectly shows that the knower and the known become one. Furthermore, why is this Prajnaparamita difficult to realize? Because it is said in the sutra: Because form and so on are not understood, it is considered inconceivable. This means that because form and so on, up to the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha, are not understood, it is inconceivable, so it indirectly shows that the knower and the known become one. Having done so, as it is said in the sutra: Thus, understanding all dharmas, in this principle, the dissimilar and opposing factors should be understood by the differences of the body. This is what is taught. The explanation of dissimilar and opposing factors is complete. Explanation of Combination Now, combination will be discussed, that is, form, etc., impermanent, etc., incomplete and completely complete, acting by preventing combination, there is no attachment to it, there is no change, there is no agent, preventing three kinds of combination, obtaining the fruit as appropriate, the fruit of it is as desired, dependent on others.
