Now it is light. Those are accomplished from the meditation with joy, and like lightning that arises from seeing clouds, etc., they emit bright light to each other, possessing a continuous stream of luminous aggregates, therefore they are luminous. Or, because the light of such a form illuminates, therefore they are luminous. What is called virtue is said to be the light of the body gathered together and unchanging. That is because their light is smaller than the noble ones before them, so it is small virtue. Those are immeasurably large, so they cannot be measured, therefore they are immeasurable virtue. Those are virtue, that is, light universally arises, increasing without omission, so it is increasing virtue. What is called increasing means that everything is accomplished from meditation without joy, and having perfected one's own entity, they abide. Those are like a lamp abiding inside a jewel box, mixed with the light of the jewel, becoming one light with its own light and abiding, appearing to burn as one body and abiding. Because one has meditated on detachment from consciousness, only the aggregate of form is manifestly accomplished, but they do not have consciousness, so they are without consciousness. Cloudless and increasing merit are easy to understand. Those are great fruits because they are accomplished from the power of meditation, so they are great fruits. Because they possess the five aggregates, they abide at the very edge of their respective ordinary beings' realms, without any harm, and they do not abandon their own position for even a short time, so they are not great. Some consider it to be without desire. According to those treatises, those do not exist in the lower realms, so they are called without desire. Because they do not harm anyone, they are non-harming. Appearing to possess happiness without poverty and being extremely captivating, they are abundant appearance. Others say it is pleasing to see. Because the viewing is completely pure, and because of seeing excellently, it is extremely seeing. Because it is the supreme of perfection, and there is nothing else above those, it is non-inferior, that is the ultimate supreme. This was said by the venerable Copper Leaf. Others say it is limitless sin, sin is said to be the way it dwells in the mind, those are the ultimate of utterly destroying.

Therefore. Furthermore, the characteristics of the various distinctions of this generation of mind are to be observed and applied by following other "Irreversible Wheel of the Noble One" and "Flower Adornment Sutra" and so on. I have not listed them in detail because there are many scriptures. The so-called "generation of mind," mind is consciousness and knowledge. What is consciousness? It is the consciousness of mind, because it can focus on all white dharmas. The meaning of "generation" is to know that the mind that has not been generated is generated. The so-called mind is to know that it is the initial beginning of the dharma of realization. Although this is the case, what is the relationship between the nine impure contemplations and the eight discriminations of the great man, and the various distinctions of the generation of mind mentioned earlier? It is for the purpose of knowing the nature of the irreversible generation of mind. There are eight reasons for the irreversible generation of mind: the antidote to desire is the impure contemplation. The antidote to wrong livelihood is few desires and contentment. The antidote to rejoicing in the right Dharma and seeing decline as happiness is tranquility. The antidote to laziness is to initiate diligence. The antidote to loss of mindfulness is to abide in mindfulness. The antidote to distraction is samadhi. The antidote to evil wisdom is wisdom. The antidote to generating joy in the defilements of the world is the hermitage of non-proliferation. This is the explanation of the generation of mind from the "Perfection of Wisdom Instruction Treatise Ornament of Realization." The generation of mind has been explained. Explanation of Instruction and Following Instruction Now I will speak of instruction, for this, the oral instruction that enables one to obtain what is sought is instruction. The method of making the merits that can be obtained not regress in order to accomplish them is instruction, and afterwards, the method of enabling the merits that have not been obtained to be obtained is following instruction, therefore, the conclusion states that this "Perfection of Wisdom" is the instruction and following instruction of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. There are also ten types of instruction.
