and other cases In detail, from the collection of paths. As it is said, it should be understood. Immeasurable is loving-kindness and so on. As it is said in entering the immeasurable. The eight liberations are: one with form contemplates form, this is the first. Inwardly having the perception of form, contemplating external forms, this is the second. The beautiful liberation, having realized it with the body, abiding completely, this is the third. Infinite space, and infinite consciousness, and nothingness, and the realm of neither perception nor non-perception, these four liberations, and the cessation of perception and feeling, this is one. Thus, there are eight. Among them, because of exhaustion and complete severance and pervasiveness, this has no limit. Because space is infinite, therefore space is infinite. This is with space as the cause. In terms of meditation relying on infinite space, it is a realm. Because it is similar to the dwelling place of the gods, it is the realm of infinite space. Infinite consciousness itself is the realm of infinite consciousness. That is completely severed and pervasive, so this is not infinite, so it is infinite consciousness. From the name, consciousness enters space, just like before. Because this is infinite consciousness, it is the realm of infinite consciousness. This has not even a limb left, so it is nothingness. It is named that way because it is separate from the realm of infinite consciousness and consciousness. This meditation also relies on nothingness, so it is called the realm of nothingness, and so on, just like before. The vast perception is not there, but the subtle one is, so it is neither perception nor non-perception. The meditation that is completely in accordance with that is neither perception nor non-perception. Neither perception nor non-perception is also, that is a realm that belongs to the realm of dharma, so it is called the realm of neither perception nor non-perception. All of these are obtained by correctly transcending from the object of focus, not by transcending the limbs. For example, the first dhyana and so on, and the objects of focus such as the exhaustion ground.

If it is not truly transcended by abandoning a single object of focus and realizing the limbs such as, these are not so. Whatever transcends the characteristic of form is the first. Transcending space is the second. Transcending the consciousness entering space is the third. Transcending the nothingness of consciousness entering space is the fourth. Thus, all of these are obtained from transcending this object of focus, not from transcending the limbs, because they all depend on equanimity and one-pointedness of mind, so they are their second limbs. Just as the doubts of coarse, subtle, extremely subtle, and very subtle, the four cloths of water and equal width, even if there is no difference in size, but because of the nature of being separated from the touch of comfort and size, the former is more excellent than the latter, and the latter is more excellent than the latter. Similarly, even if these have no difference, but because of the difference in meditation, the subtle and peaceful nature is close to the object of focus, it should be known that the former is more excellent than the latter, and it is extremely excellent. The remaining part of the liberation is explained as, as previously said, all aspects are completely manifested. The nine gradual abidings in equipoise are the four meditations, the formless equipoise, and the cessation equipoise. The ten kasinas are: earth, water, fire, wind, blue, yellow, red, white, these are the eight kasinas, as well as kasina consciousness and kasina space. Among them, kasina earth refers to the yogi who, through habit, has been able to control, has transcended meditation and samadhi, because a little obstacle remains and enters into samadhi, because of the coarse conceptualization, after seeing the fault called limb weakness, in order to realize the tranquility of the second meditation, he first completely accepts the desirelessness for the first meditation, when separately observing the limbs of meditation, only the coarseness of conceptualization, such as the practice of the path, abides in tranquility. At that time, abandoning the coarse limbs.
