The five kinds of mindfulness of the Buddha, as explained, have been discussed. Among them, the first is generating the mind of enlightenment. The remaining four are the four that correspond to the aspects of ascertainment. Thus, having trained and abiding in mindfulness, etc., the aspects of enlightenment are perfected. From the path of seeing to the perfection of the wisdom of omniscience is called the path of meditation. Thus, although the nature of non-substantiality already exists, understanding the practice of liberation, etc., should be understood as cultivating mindfulness of the Buddha. Similarly, not attending to virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral dharmas, etc., is mindfulness of the Dharma. By meditating on the four pairs of persons as the nature of non-substantiality, and by attending to non-substantiality, not attending to mindfulness is mindfulness of the Sangha. Starting from the initial generation of the mind of enlightenment, not broken, not destroyed, not mixed, without defect, not diminished, endowed with power, praised by the wise, extremely realized, abiding in the discipline that accomplishes samadhi. That discipline, attending to it as the nature of non-substantiality, not attending to mindfulness, is mindfulness of discipline. Among them, not relying on other vehicles is why it is not broken. Also, having abandoned birth in existence, it is completely not destroyed. Not mixing with evil people, afflictions, etc., is why it is not mixed. The aspect of white dharma increases, so it is without defect. Not making aspirations for rebirth is why it is not diminished. Acting as desired is why it is endowed with power. Not being criticized by the wise is why it is praised by the wise. The senses are purified, so it is extremely realized. The accumulation of the limbs of dhyana increases, so it accomplishes samadhi. For the giving of dharma and material things, attending to myself as the nature of non-substantiality, not attending to mindfulness, is mindfulness of giving. In the desire realm, entering the stream of being born in the six desire realms, and in the form and formless realms, for the sake of practice,

By considering beings as having the nature of being without substance, there is no recollection and consideration, which is the recollection of the gods. It is taught that one knows the gradual conduct and so forth. If that is the case, then in other sutras, two classes of gods are recollected, namely Tushita and Pure Abode. How should this be understood? This is spoken with regard to unmixed individuals, so there is no fault. An Explanation of Manifest Realization by Knowing All Dharmas to be of the Nature of Being Without Substance. The gradual manifest realization by knowing the nature of being without substance in all dharmas is as follows: In this way, by means of the nature of being without substance, the six perfections, all emptinesses, the aspects of enlightenment, the four noble truths, meditation, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, liberation, the absorptions of gradual abiding, the doors of liberation, the superknowledges, samadhi, the doors of dharani, the powers, the fearlessnesses, and so forth, when training in great compassion, it is taught that one knows the gradual conduct and so forth by means of the nature of being without substance. If all dharmas are of the nature of being without substance, then because everything is nonexistent, there would be the fault of falling into nihilism. And if all dharmas are of the nature of being without substance, whether they exist or not is not perceived, and the answer to that is explained. Even though one does not have it oneself, the venerable Subhuti asked in relation to future beings. If it is the nature of being without substance, then for the sake of the benefit of sentient beings, there would be no entering into unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. If it is said that those with conceptual clinging can attain and manifest realization, then the attainment and manifest realization of those with conceptual clinging is prevented, and by the very nature of non-apprehension, the realm of phenomena is not disturbed, and it is the attainment and manifest realization of that. If that is the case, then there would be no establishing the ten bhumis and so forth, and for that very reason, the desired manifestation is also truly accomplished, and the performance of giving and other distinctions to the unapprehended is prevented, and by not focusing on that
