One enters into the first dhyana. Having abandoned that samadhi of the lion's springing forth, one enters into the samadhi of transcendence. Rabhyor! What is the transcendent samadhi of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva? Here, a Bodhisattva enters into the first dhyana, and likewise enters into cessation. Having arisen from that, one dwells having closely attained the first dhyana. Then into cessation. Then into the second dhyana. Then into cessation. Then into the third. Then into cessation. Then into the fourth dhyana. Then into cessation. Then into the sphere of infinite space. Then into cessation. Then into the sphere of infinite consciousness. Then into cessation. Then into the sphere of nothingness. Then into cessation. Then into the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. Having arisen from that, one enters into the absorption of cessation. Having arisen from that, one enters into the absorption of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. Having arisen from that, one makes the mind equipoised, acting in the desire realm. From the equipoised mind, one enters into cessation. Having arisen from that, one dwells in a non-equipoised mind. Then one enters into the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. Having arisen from that, one dwells in a non-equipoised mind. Then into the sphere of a little nothingness. Then one dwells in a non-equipoised mind. Likewise, up to arising from the first dhyana and dwelling in a non-equipoised mind. Whatever, the eight grounds are related in two ways, one transcends, having gone and come, the third goes into a dissimilar kind, that of transcendence is the absorption. How is that which is said? Is it like the nature of a crow and milk porridge being the same? This situation is different, because by obtaining skill in such means, one enters into countless kalpas, making hundreds of thousands of kotis, and by attending to and honoring immeasurable Buddhas, it is shown to be vast, and because one desires to know that the path of meditation is full of the meaning of being constant and discontinuous.

Thus it was spoken. The path of meditation has been explained. Now, the four discriminations that correspond to it will be explained. Among them, briefly, extensively, and by the Buddha, not taught and without merit in the three times, the good path has three aspects, this is the discrimination of grasping, which is the object of combination. Thus it is said. Among them, the discrimination of not understanding the brief explanation of all dharmas, and the discrimination of not understanding the extensive explanation of it, that is, the Blessed One, the Tathagata, has briefly and extensively explained these dharmas, and the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas and others, the six perfections, can all understand this brief and extensive explanation, thus beginning. The three aspects of omniscience are also summarized and explained from the seed of direct realization. Moreover, those who individually explain from the gate of each direct realization, thus summarized from the direct realization of the summit, and the order of the path of individual ones is established, therefore, one should know the meaning of abandoning the discrimination that should be abandoned. Blessed One, how can the Bodhisattva Mahasattva seek the brief and extensive explanation of all dharmas, and knowing the suchness of all dharmas is knowing the brief and extensive explanation. Here, stopping birth and death, and transformation, thus, knowing and corresponding to the true limit, neither existing nor separated, is knowing the brief and extensive explanation. Bodhisattvas with sharp faculties and others, by the nature of entering, explain the brief and extensive explanation, which is knowing the meaning of the cause of entering, as it is said. The discrimination of what the Buddha has not taught, that is, as it is said, the practitioner, is obscured by the nature of omniscience, born of demonic deeds, should be completely abandoned, and the intention of the Buddha, the sentient beings of the three thousand great thousand worlds, are satisfied by the impure giving, and the aggregates such as precepts, and harming the Bodhi of the self-Buddha, is better than merely striking the cymbals and practicing Prajnaparamita, accumulating merit.

Therefore, through growth, one can understand the intention of the Buddha. Why is that? Because all the dharmas that the Buddha spoke of belong to the cause arising from this Buddha image. For the conceptualizations without the merits of the path of application, as mentioned before, abiding in the non-retreating intention of the Buddha, being completely grasped by a doubtful spiritual friend, starting from meditating on all aspects of the Dharma such as the six perfections, up to the benefits of realizing the Prajnaparamita, these are what are said during the path of application. For the conceptualizations without the merits of the path of seeing, it is the realization of the Prajnaparamita, which is what is said during the path of seeing. For the conceptualizations without the merits of the path of meditation, it is through meditating on the Prajnaparamita that many benefits of the mind are shown during the path of meditation. For the wisdom conceptualizations of the path of application, it is through meditating on the tranquility, impermanence, emptiness, and insubstantiality of forms, etc., that one truly knows the subject of the path of application as it is. Among them, it is tranquil because of desiring things, it is impermanent because of arising from conditions, it is empty because of the emptiness of its own nature, and it is insubstantial because it cannot be analyzed. For the conceptualizations of the path of seeing that do not know the path, it is through realizing emptiness like the sky that one realizes the Prajnaparamita, truly knowing the subject of the path of seeing as it is. For the wisdom conceptualizations of the path of meditation, it is through meditating on emptiness like the sky that one meditates on the Prajnaparamita, truly knowing the subject of the path of meditation as it is. Again, mentioning the sky is to know that the path of meditation and the path of seeing are not different in things. Therefore, empty like the sky
