It is called "Explaining the Term 'Lineage' as a Basis." Among these, the basis for entering into spontaneously accomplished wisdom is this: that which is said to be the Thus-Gone One, the Foe Destroyer, the Perfectly and Fully Awakened Buddha, who benefits all sentient beings and dwells happily in the Dharma of the present life, is the spontaneously accomplished wisdom. Subhuti, for example, the light of the Thus-Gone One, the Foe Destroyer, the Perfectly and Fully Awakened Buddha, has no place to dwell and is imperceptible. Whatever is said in this way, the dwelling place is the object of the basis. "Has no place to dwell and is imperceptible" means that the opposite of non-existence is the meaning of existence. Therefore, what is imperceptible due to non-existence is emptiness. Why is that? Subhuti, for example, by what Bodhi is Bodhi, and by what Bodhi is a Bodhisattva? Whatever is the meaning of the word Bodhisattva, all these Dharmas are neither possessed nor not possessed. They are formless, unshowable, unobstructed, and of one characteristic, that is, the word "characteristiclessness" is in accordance with the four aspects of certainty, and is established on the basis of the path of seeing and the path of cultivation. That is, it is through distinguishing the special, seeing what has not been seen, and clearly moving towards seeing, in stages as they are, the states of things and non-things, having and not having, what should be observed and seen, and the arising of unprecedented mutual connections, and because of its existence, the nature that does not allow others, and from the perspective of non-difference, that is, because of no self-nature. Know that there are two words, three words, one word, and one word. Then, what is the nature of the basis of accomplishment? Subhuti, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should train in the non-attachment and unoriginatedness of all Dharmas, through non-conceptualization and non-differentiation. Among these, conceptualization and differentiation are manifest clinging to things and their characteristics. Because they do not exist, it should be known as non-attachment. Unoriginatedness is the Suchness of all Dharmas. Therefore, this one, with Dharma

Because the very nature of the Dharmadhatu is the cause of the noble dharmas, it shows that the naturally abiding lineage is the basis for establishing it. If there are some naturally abiding lineages, why is it that in beginningless samsara, the Buddhas, equal to the sands of the Ganges, have passed into nirvana, but still there are sentient beings with naturally abiding lineages who have not passed into nirvana? That is because they possess four faults, namely, afflictions, bad friends, poverty, and the power of others are its faults, as it is said. Here, it is desired that the uninterrupted path itself is manifested as the naturally abiding lineage. Others say that lineage is the distinction of the six sense bases. That also has two aspects, namely, truly taken by conditions and naturally abiding. They then need to explain the meaning of the self-nature spoken of in the naturally abiding lineage. If it is said to be a synonym for cause, then that which is truly taken by conditions is also that, so what is the difference in meaning? If it is a synonym for the nature of dharma, then there is no fault in this. Or their lineage is imputed, while this is characterized by its own nature; if it is certain, then it does not agree with that and this. If the Dharmadhatu itself is the lineage, then everything will abide in the lineage, because it is universally present. If, as an object of focus, it becomes the cause of the noble dharmas, as it is said to be the lineage, then why seek for too much here? Even so, because the Dharmadhatu is without distinction, this is the Shravaka lineage, this is the Pratyekabuddha lineage, this is the Buddha lineage, the lineages cannot be different. As it is said: Manjushri, if the Dharmadhatu is one, Suchness is one, and the ultimate truth is one, then how can it be established as a vessel and a non-vessel? As it is said. That is true, even so, just as from one substance of clay it is manifested and fired by one fire, it becomes different containers such as honey and rock candy. By the distinction of the dependent dharma, its distinction is well explained. As it is said: Where gather
