Those who perfectly unite without interruption through the principle of the earth element will undoubtedly attain it even after rebirth. Therefore, the Tathagata declared the complete attainment of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. The benefits of union have been explained. Explanation of the Obstacles to Union: To explain its obstacles, the Tathagata declared, "Faults are divided into four sets of ten, which must be definitely understood as six." This means forty-six. Among these obstacles, what is difficult to obtain is the cause for perfecting the perfections, namely, the great difficulty and the courage arising from a long time. The Tathagata declared this. The very rapid arising of courage refers to the fact that in the past, during the stage of practicing the perfections, the very rapid arising of courage becomes an obstacle to verbal expression. The three transformations of the body's unfavorable state are yawning, excitement, and mutual leaning and questioning. The Tathagata declared that these are obstacles to bodily transformation. Leaning refers to joking about one's own body or the body of another related to one's body. There are three unfavorable states of mind: a distracted mind, questioning and listening with mutual discernment, and getting up and leaving with the thought, "I have not tasted the flavor here." The Tathagata declared that this is an obstacle to the mind. Having mutual discernment refers to discerning things that cause joy by relying on each other. Engaging in irrational recitations and so on, or explaining with bodily transformations, or holding on with mental transformations, and so on, the Tathagata declared that this itself is an obstacle. Holding onto external reasons, that is, not definitely entering, because it is reasonable not to show prophecy, therefore saying, "I have not been prophesied here," and the non-showing of non-prophecy, etc., because there is no definite examination of reasonableness, therefore not fully speaking one's own name, not obtaining joy, the Tathagata declared. The decay of the cause refers to the example of abandoning the root and grasping the leaves and branches, the complete decay of the cause.

Oṃ, etc. Why is that? Because it is said that all the dharmas of the world and beyond the world are necessarily born from the Perfection of Wisdom. Falling away from tasting delicacies is like the example of a dog; whatever is said is the meaning of falling away from tasting delicacies. Falling away from the supreme vehicle is like the example of seeking an elephant for a purpose, and while finding it, chasing after its footprints; whatever is said is the meaning of completely falling away from the Great Vehicle. The loss of a special purpose is like the example of the great ocean and the footprints of a cow being equal; whatever is said is the meaning of completely losing the special purpose. The loss of the connection between cause and effect is like the example of a diviner wanting to build a magnificent mansion with the dimensions of the immeasurable palace of the sun; whatever is said is because the sequence of cause and effect is reversed, so the meaning of losing its order. Falling away from the unsurpassed state is like the example of the territory of a wheel-turning king being equal; whatever is said is the meaning of completely falling away from the state of the Dharmakaya, which is the work of the obstructing demons. The arising of courage to conceptualize objects is that those dharmas are non-existent and invisible in the Perfection of Wisdom, and it is said that much courage with those dharmas as objects will arise. Attachment to writing letters, attachment to non-things, attachment to the Perfection of Wisdom in written letters, attachment to the absence of letters here, attending to objects, etc., gain, respect, tasting the flavor of verses, seeking skillful means by the wrong path, these seven obstacles are because the nature of all dharmas is non-existent, because of non-things, it is impossible to write non-things, and attachment to non-things, attachment to the written letters as being the Perfection of Wisdom, attachment to the absence of letters there, attending to objects, etc., gain, respect, tasting the flavor of verses, abandoning the Perfection of Wisdom and being controlled by the demon.
