Having gathered together all the roots of virtue of the beings who have been tamed, and having rejoiced and completely dedicated them, starting from "What is a thing?", what is the object, the object of focus, the mind of enlightenment, the root of virtue, and the object of merit that possesses rejoicing, and starting from "the mind is exhausted, ceased, separated, and transformed in nature", up to "dedicating all phenomena in the form of non-objectivity that follows after non-existence is excellent", and so on, whatever has been said. Among these, the object is the category. The object of focus is all phenomena. The mind that acts for the sake of enlightenment is the discriminating thought that grasps. The root of virtue is non-attachment and so on. The object of merit is thinking. Exhaustion is the dissipation of accumulation. Cessation is the dissipation of continuity. Separation is the dissipation of inherent nature. Transformation is the dissipation of the aspect of transformation. The dedication with the characteristic of non-inversion is that the nature of the mind that dedicates is also the same. Why is that? Because, as it is said, all phenomena are empty in their inherent nature. Dedicating in a solitary place is, if the great Bodhisattva knows that the object of merit is separate from the aggregates and so on, starting from "knowing", up to "knowing that all the Buddha's teachings are separate in their own nature", whatever has been said. Dedicating by remembering the nature that belongs to the category of the Buddha's teachings, the root of virtue, is, whatever categories the Buddha's roots of virtue are, and whatever is the nature, in the same way, dedicating that object of merit, this is what is said. Dedicating with skillful means is, here, the great Bodhisattva should learn those skillful means and so on, whatever has been said. Dedicating without signs is, using the example of food mixed with poison, dedicating with the thought of signs is, poisonous and thorny and so on, whatever has been said.

It is so. The dedication permitted by the Buddha is: Just as those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, know with unsurpassed Buddha wisdom, so may I completely dedicate, etc., as said. The dedication that does not belong to the three realms is: Furthermore, those roots of virtue should be dedicated in this way, such as not belonging to the realm of the three form realms, etc., as said. The dedication that produces great merit also has three distinctions: small, medium, and large. Among them, the small one starts from the path of the ten virtuous actions, up to the five supernormal cognitions, abiding in worldly realization, taking the example of sentient beings in the realm of the three thousand great thousand worlds, dedicating this virtue, saying that this merit will greatly increase, etc. The medium one is still just that continuity, from the example of the merit of honoring and making offerings to those who have become Arhats, etc., this merit is as said before. The great one is just those sentient beings abiding in unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, taking the example of the merit of each sentient being in the ten directions of the world making offerings, the merit of dedicating without objectification is as before. Why is that? Because all of those are due to non-objectification, etc., as said. The mental activity of dedication has been explained. Explanation of the mental activity of rejoicing. Speaking of the mental activity of rejoicing, with skillful means and non-objectification, rejoicing in the roots of virtue, the mental activity of rejoicing, it is said here that it is cultivation. This is what was said, starting from how the Bhagavan rejoices in order to increase, with skillful means, in a non-objectifying way, dedicating those roots of virtue to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, etc., as said. Among them, with the mental activity of faith and understanding, just like a golden thread emerging from a pure source, merit is manifestly accumulated.
