That, because it is not something with form, the forms of shapes such as long and short, and colors such as blue and yellow, and the three times are obstructed. Because it does not have a nature that changes into something else, decrease and increase are obstructed. Because its nature is the nature of complete purity, all afflictions and completely pure self, as well as birth and cessation, as well as abiding and separation from abiding, and change from abiding are obstructed. Among these, arising from nothing is birth, becoming nothing after arising is cessation, similar continuity is abiding, dissimilar is separation from abiding, and continuous change is change from abiding. Because its essence and all arising, and sameness are the five aggregates, virtue and non-virtue, as well as non-virtue and the unspecified are obstructed. Because it transcends the realm of the senses, seeing, hearing, remembering, awareness, and discriminations, as well as what is to be known, what should be known, and what is to be completely known are obstructed. Among these, what is to be known is knowing everything, because that is what should be transcended after being observed with knowledge and seeing. What should be known is knowing the path, because that is what should be known up to the point of becoming a Buddha. What is to be completely known is omniscience, because that is what should be known from all aspects, because there is no limit to the Great Vehicle. Because it is free from the distinctions of entering and returning, what is to be completely known, what is to be abandoned, what is to be realized, and what is to be cultivated are obstructed. Because the connection of cause and effect contradicts it, the fully ripened and its dharmata are obstructed. Because it is not associated with the three realms, the very notion of being in the desire realm and so on is obstructed. Because it is not the nature of discrimination, like the sky, in the Great Vehicle, from the first arising of the mind up to the tenth arising of the mind is obstructed. Similarly, because it is not the nature of a basis, from the ground of white appearance and so on up to the ground of accomplishing activity are obstructed. Because it is not the nature of reliance.

Therefore, because there is no obstruction to the fruits such as entering the stream, and the grounds of Śrāvakas, Śrāvakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Buddhas, and no conceptualization of their contradictory aspects. The Mahāyāna has forms that include contradiction, and those that are demonstrable, have obstruction, and possess, and those that are permanent, blissful, self, and peaceful, and those that are non-empty, have characteristics, and have aspirations, and the solitary and appearances that include contradiction, etc., and because there is no attachment to their entities and particularities, those that are obtained in order, and those that are closely focused, and because there is no conceptualization of their nature, it is taught by blocking speech and ultimate speech. Among them, speech is the knowledge that is the cause of understanding oneself, because this itself is what speaks. Ultimate speech is the word that is the cause of making others understand, because speaking to others is ultimate speech. Having made the empowerment of the definite arising of the benefit of sentient beings, what is said is: Subhuti, for example, you say this, for example, just as the sky opens up opportunities for sentient beings who are immeasurable, countless, and limitless, so too does the Mahāyāna open up opportunities for sentient beings who are immeasurable, countless, and limitless. Therefore, it is called Mahāyāna. That statement means that because of the emptiness of sentient beings, space, and the Mahāyāna, the Mahāyāna is what opens up opportunities for sentient beings who are immeasurable, countless, and limitless. Why is that? Because sentient beings, space, and the Mahāyāna are invisible. This shows that the path, which is encompassed by the aspect of no object of focus, is the cause of the definite arising of the benefit of sentient beings. The path is also encompassed by the ten Bodhisattva grounds, because the emptiness of sentient beings, space, and the Mahāyāna is immeasurable, so the Mahāyāna has the opportunity for sentient beings that was previously mentioned. Why is that? Because sentient beings, etc., are invisible, so the conceptualization of the first ground, etc.
