Furthermore, even if poor, not abandoning begging, one will truly attain the sixth ground. This means that a great Bodhisattva abiding on the sixth ground should perfect six dharmas, namely the six perfections. Moreover, one should completely abandon six dharmas. What six? It is said that one should completely abandon the mind of a Hearer, and so on. Grasping at self and sentient beings, grasping at life and the individual, annihilationism and eternalism, grasping at characteristics, causes, aggregates, elements, and sense bases, as well as dwelling in and clinging to the three realms, the mind is always dejected, regarding the Three Jewels and discipline, there is manifest attachment to views there, diligence in emptiness, and faults contrary to that. By completely cutting off these twenty, one will attain the seventh ground. This means that a great Bodhisattva abiding on the seventh ground will not generate twenty dharmas. What twenty? Namely, grasping at self, grasping at sentient beings, grasping at life, and so on. Knowing the three doors of liberation, the three spheres being completely pure, as well as compassion and absence of pride, knowing the equality and sameness of dharmas, knowing non-arising and forbearance, showing all dharmas in one way, completely destroying conceptualization, abandoning perception, views, and afflictions, definitely contemplating quiescence, and being skilled in insight, taming the mind, and for all things, having unobstructed wisdom, not a place of attachment, wherever one desires, going simultaneously to other Buddhafields, and completely showing the nature of self, these are twenty. This means that a great Bodhisattva abiding on the seventh ground will perfect these twenty dharmas. What twenty? Namely, perfecting emptiness, prioritizing signlessness, knowing wishlessness, the three spheres being completely pure, having compassion and love for all sentient beings, and so on. Among them, what is the complete purity of the three spheres? As the path of the ten virtuous actions is completely perfected, this is the complete purity of the three spheres of a great Bodhisattva, it will be declared. Completely practicing in all ways

It is with the thought of completion. As it is said: These paths of the ten virtuous actions, in order to be completely perfect in all aspects, abide in the meaning of truly accomplishing all the Buddha's teachings. Knowing the minds of all sentient beings, cherishing with supernormal knowledge, accomplishing excellent Buddha-fields, relying on the Buddha for complete examination. Knowing the faculties and the Victorious One's, purifying the field, abiding like an illusion, taking birth as desired, these eight types of actions are explained. This means that the great Bodhisattva, abiding in the eighth ground, should perfect these four dharmas. What are the four? They are: to fully understand the minds of all sentient beings, and so on. Furthermore, whatever is said, such as perfecting the four dharmas, etc. Separating into two sets of four is for the purpose of knowing that whatever it may be is the complete purification of that ground. Among them, the first Buddha-field is the vessel world, because all Buddha-fields should be truly seen, and as seen, Buddha-fields will be accomplished, which will be explained. The second is the sentient being world, as it is said: What is the great Bodhisattva's purification of the Buddha-field? Purifying the minds of all sentient beings in a non-objective way is the great Bodhisattva's purification of the Buddha-field, which will be explained. Among them, the illusion-like samadhi is as follows: What is the samadhi born from the ripening of the great Bodhisattva? It is to repeatedly enter into that samadhi, which will be explained, and also what kind of samadhi does not diminish and is without loss, is also spoken from there. Aspiration and the infinite, knowing the languages of gods and others, eloquence like a river, excellent entry into the womb, lineage and ancestry and descendants, retinue and births, etc., renunciation, Bodhi trees, etc., are the perfection of qualities.

Regarding the ground, a great Bodhisattva abiding in the ninth ground should perfect twelve dharmas. What are the twelve? They are, for example, upholding limitless aspirations, knowing the languages of gods, and so on, as spoken. The perfection of lineage is as it is said, 'From what lineage did the previous great Bodhisattvas arise? This is the perfection of lineage.' It will be explained that way. In the Sutra Requested by Noble Sagaramati, it is said, 'It is completely beyond lineage.' Subhuti, a great Bodhisattva abiding in the tenth ground is said to be a Tathagata. This refers to not having fully perfected all the Buddha dharmas, such as the powers attained by a fully enlightened Buddha. In other schools, one should also say 'Tathagata,' but one should not say 'Fully Enlightened Buddha.' Also, the tenth ground: 'After surpassing the nine grounds, the wisdom by which one abides in the Buddha ground, that is the Bodhisattva ground, it should be known as the tenth ground.' Thus it is said. Those nine grounds are also these, namely, the nature of a Hearer and so on is the lineage ground. Entering the first fruit is the eighth ground. Stream-enterer is the seeing ground. Once-returner is the thinning ground. Non-returner is the ground of detachment from desire. An Arhat is the ground of having done what needs to be done. The Hearer ground refers to the clear establishment of the three vehicles. As it is said, 'The ground of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, this is a conventional term for the establishment of grounds.' Thus it is said. Solitary Buddhas are like rhinoceros horns, and those Solitary Buddhas who practice in assemblies. The Bodhisattva ground is the nine aspects as explained. Therefore, Subhuti, when a great Bodhisattva, skilled in means, practices the perfections and so on, up to the time of practicing the eighteen unshared Buddha dharmas, from the lineage ground onwards, having completely transcended the Bodhisattva ground, one abides in the Buddha ground. Subhuti, this is Bodhi.
