The meaning is complete. That itself is the fruit of abiding happily in the seen Dharma. Such are the four aspects, which are called 'other'. Thorough cultivation is through cultivation, making the body completely pliable. Cultivation is making the precepts definitely pliable. Cultivation is removing the harm of the mind. Cultivation is making wisdom stable. Called 'abiding in truth' means possessing the first dhyana, because it is completely separated from desire and so on. Called 'abiding in detachment' means possessing the second dhyana, because it is detachment from discursive thought and so on. Called 'abiding in cessation' means possessing the third dhyana, because whatever is detachment from joy is cessation there. Called 'completely abandoning transformation' means possessing the fourth dhyana and the formless attainments, because the abandonment that precedes the clear knowledge of existence that has not been abandoned is complete abandonment. Furthermore, completely destroying latent tendencies is serenity. Freedom from all arising is detachment. Completely cutting off all bonds is cessation. Completely abandoning all appropriation is complete abandonment. Also, the Vaibhashikas say that serenity is serenity from the realms. Detachment is detachment from the defilements. Cessation is the cessation of karma. Complete abandonment is abandoning things, all the words are speaking of nirvana. Furthermore, the antidotes to the four kinds of conceptualization of the apprehended and the apprehender, that is, the four paths of seeing, for them, understand the four sentences such as abiding in serenity, etc., in order. Among them, the antidote to the first conceptualization of the apprehended is serenity, because it abandons all the afflicted aspects from the pure side, so it is serenity. The antidote to the second conceptualization of the apprehended is detachment, because it is detachment from the desire for virtuous dharmas. The antidote to the first conceptualization of the apprehender is cessation, because it completely
