It is just a name. Shariputra, for example, sentient being, sentient being, is just a name. The designated dharma, for it, other than merely expressing it with names and terms, there is no arising or ceasing. Such as these. For suffering, knowing the dharma, the so-called designated dharma, for it, without realizing that it is merely expressed with names and terms, there is no arising or ceasing, this is what was said. For suffering, the forbearance of subsequent knowledge, Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, he does not truly see form as permanent or impermanent, and even does not truly see samsara or nirvana, this is what was said. For suffering, subsequent knowledge, why is that? Shariputra, for example, this Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not discriminate or differentiate all these dharmas, this is what was said. For the origin, the forbearance of knowing the dharma, he understands the nature of the dharma of practicing Prajnaparamita, the nature of the dharma will not be completely defiled, nor will it be completely purified, this is what was said. For the origin, knowing the dharma, he understands that the dharma arising from names and terms is designated, therefore he will not be attached to form, will not be attached to feeling, etc., this is what was said. For the origin, the forbearance of subsequent knowledge, he will not be attached to the Dana Paramita, and even will not be attached to skillful means. Why is that? Because, for example, what is attached to, or by what is attached to, or the dharma that is attached to, these are not existent, this is what was said. For the origin, subsequent knowledge, thus practicing, thus increasing with the Dana Paramita, and even will truly enter into the faultlessness of the Bodhisattva, this is what was said.

Furthermore, regarding the statement, "For the forbearance of knowledge of the Dharma in cessation, one who practices in this way will surely not regress and will abide on the ground," it should be understood that this is the eighth ground of a Bodhisattva. Regarding the statement, "For the knowledge of the Dharma in cessation, a great Bodhisattva who practices in this way will perfect all the superknowledges, will receive offerings from the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, will go to those places, and will also hear the Dharma from those places," it is thus declared. Regarding the statement, "For the forbearance of subsequent knowledge of the Dharma in cessation, Subhuti, what do you think? When one speaks of a Bodhisattva, do you think that it is a Bodhisattva of form? Or is it a different entity that is not form that is a Bodhisattva? Do you think that a Bodhisattva has form? Or is there a Bodhisattva in form? Do you think that the formless is a Bodhisattva?" etc., because it does not take different categories, it prevents form, etc., from being the nature of a Bodhisattva. Regarding "For the subsequent knowledge of the Dharma in cessation, Subhuti, what do you think? What is the suchness of form, do you think that is a Bodhisattva? Or is it a different entity that is not the suchness of form that is a Bodhisattva?" etc., as previously stated. Regarding "For the forbearance of knowledge of the Dharma in the path, Subhuti, what do you think? Is what is called a Bodhisattva a mere designation of form? Likewise, is form permanent or impermanent, is form pleasurable or painful," and so on, up to "Is what is called a Bodhisattva a mere designation of form that has desire or form that has no desire?" etc., it is thus declared. Regarding the statement, "For the knowledge of the Dharma in the path, Subhuti, the Dharma cannot rightly see the Dharmadhatu with the Dharma, and the Dharmadhatu cannot rightly see the Dharma with the Dharmadhatu," it is thus declared. Among these, the first is the Dharma of practice and realization, which is the path; the second is the Dharma of the result, which is Nirvana. These two also prevent each other from seeing each other, because their nature is inanimate. Regarding "For the forbearance of subsequent knowledge of the Dharma in the path, Subhuti, the

A realm does not truly see the realm of dharma, and the realm of dharma does not truly see the realm of form. Likewise, from the realm of feeling and the realm of dharma, up to the realm of consciousness and the realms of dharma, and likewise, from the realm of the eye and the realm of dharma, up to the realm of the mind and the realms of dharma, whatever is said to prevent mutual seeing is what is meant here. The former is intended to state a summary of practice, while the latter is separate. Following knowledge on the path is what is said: "Noble one, the realm of the conditioned does not truly see the realm of the unconditioned, and the realm of dharma of the unconditioned does not truly see the realm of the conditioned." Thus, the realms of the conditioned and the unconditioned, which are explained as samsara and nirvana, are prevented from seeing each other, which shows that following knowledge on the path is the realm of the equality of samsara and nirvana. The instructions on the path of seeing have been explained. Entering into the scope of instructions on the path of meditation, "Noble one, without the realm of the conditioned, one cannot posit the realm of the unconditioned; and without the realm of the unconditioned, one cannot posit the realm of the conditioned." This is what is said. Among them, the conditioned is the path, and the unconditioned is abandonment. Because one cannot posit the two as mutually independent, the establishment of the path of meditation is imputed and not intrinsic, because it appears to be directed towards the object of seeing, thus showing that there is no independent entity. If one does so, then the practice of prajnaparamita, its aspect of non-apprehension, and what is apprehended, which are the four noble truths, and what is relied upon, which are the three jewels, and especially, what is the cause of going? It is non-attachment. What is the cause of going without regression? It is not being completely weary. What is the cause of not being turned by other vehicles? It is completely holding the path. What is the cause of going without relying on others? It is the five eyes. What is the cause of perfecting omniscience? It is the six superknowledges.
