The divine eye of a Bodhisattva is fully known by the Bodhisattva. The divine eye of a great Bodhisattva is not known by the gods from the retinue of the Four Great Kings up to the gods of Akanishta. This is what the Buddha said. Why? Because the realm of the Bodhisattva's divine eye is the death and birth of all sentient beings in the ten directions. The eye of wisdom is that a great Bodhisattva, endowed with the eye of wisdom, knows all conditioned or unconditioned dharmas without exception. This is what the Buddha said. The eye of wisdom is free from conceptualization with respect to all dharmas. The Dharma eye is: Shariputra, the great Bodhisattva's Dharma eye knows that this person is a follower of faith, this person is a follower of Dharma, and so forth, up to the point that this person will not turn back until he or she manifestly awakens into unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. This is what the Buddha said. The realm of the Dharma eye is the realization of all noble individuals. Speaking with the Buddha's eye as the authority, Shariputra, after a great Bodhisattva generates the mind of enlightenment, he or she abides in the vajra-like samadhi, and with the wisdom that is associated with a single instant of mind, he or she attains omniscience. This is what the Buddha said. The realm of the Buddha's eye is the manifest and complete awakening into all dharmas in all ways. The instruction on the five eyes has been explained. Among the instructions on the six superknowledges, speaking with the superknowledge of miraculous power as the authority, he makes this great earth tremble greatly. He transforms from one into many, and so forth, up to the point that he accomplishes the wisdom of superknowledge in order to manifest the aspects of miraculous power. This is what was said. The divine ear is that he hears the sounds of both gods and humans with the pure and transcendent realm of the divine ear. This is what the Buddha said. Knowing the minds of others is that he truly knows the minds of other sentient beings and people.

Knowing thoroughly as it is. Regarding the mind with desire, knowing thoroughly as it is as the mind with desire, etc., this is what is said. Remembering previous abodes, that is, with the superknowledge that actualizes the remembering of previous abodes, one also remembers one lifetime. One also remembers hundreds of lifetimes, etc., this is what is said. The superknowledge of the divine eye, that is, with the pure, transcendent divine eye, one knows thoroughly the death and rebirth of sentient beings as they are, these sentient beings possess evil conduct of body, etc., this is what is said. The difference between these two eyes is this: the divine eye gathered by the eye faculty is this, which arises from maturation; and this gathered by superknowledge arises from meditative concentration that has been manifestly cultivated. When making effort in the superknowledge of knowing the exhaustion of defilements, even if the wisdom of superknowledge that actualizes birth is manifestly accomplished, one will not fall into the Hearer's ground or the Solitary Buddha's ground. This is what is said, because with the mental application that is fully endowed with all aspects of omniscience, all distracted minds that focus on it are blocked. Again, one might ask, why is one exhorted to superknowledge? Shariputra, with completely purified superknowledge, one abandons all aspects of omniscience. Moreover, in each stage of the perfections, being completely seized by superknowledge is precisely what trains the path of all aspects of omniscience. In giving, giving is established as an antidote, for the purpose of eliminating unfavorable factors. Such a perfection of wisdom is the very cause of obtaining all qualities. This is what the Buddha said. When making effort in the benefits of superknowledge, establishing beings in the equality of Dharma, and all noble beings are loving, and encountering desirable objects, etc., and Bodhisattvas are revered by all the hosts of gods.

Likewise, starting with the three hundred bhikshus named Kundgawo (Sanskrit: Ānanda, literal Chinese meaning: Ananda), many bhikshus were prophesied to become Buddhas, and in each of the ten directions, worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River were manifested, and the assembly, together with all the bodhisattvas who came from other realms, was thoroughly encouraged by the mark of the power of the extended tongue, which was prophesied at that time, by showing that the fruit of the teachings is obtained at other times. The teachings on the six superknowledges have been completed. //Having made the path of seeing the subject of instruction, the Blessed One said to Subhuti: Subhuti, you should generate courage for the great bodhisattvas, starting from the Perfection of Wisdom. //Sariputra, the Tathagata shows the Perfection of Wisdom to the great bodhisattvas by means of skillful means, because the teaching of the Perfection of Wisdom is not the realm of the Hearers and all Solitary Buddhas. //Why does the Blessed One show it from the mouth of others? Because others also realize that meaning, by practice, because one should not cling to oneself, so it is for the purpose of avoiding faults. //Why does he show it from the mouth of the Hearers? It is for the purpose of knowing that he is proficient in blessings. //Why does he show it only from the mouth of the Venerable Subhuti? Because he is the supreme one who abides without defilements, and because he has a share in freedom from defilements that is equal and superior, he is emptiness that is in accordance with the path of seeing. //Having done so, the venerable Subhuti, well done, well done! The Blessed One said that he is the supreme among the Hearers who abide without defilements, and this teaching is also similar to his way, which is what is said below. //Among them, from the sixteen moments of the path of seeing, what is said with the moment of the forbearance of knowing the Dharma of suffering as the subject is: Subhuti, for example, the Perfection of Wisdom, the Bodhisattva, and those called by its name are all nominal.
