Therefore, I thought, isn't it that wisdom has no difference? Therefore, I asked, is it that there is no difference? World Honored One, for example, "entering the stream" and so on. Shariputra, what do you think? The wisdom of a Bodhisattva, practicing for just one day, for what fruit does it approach and abide? From that beginning, in order to completely liberate all sentient beings from suffering, in order to perfect the six perfections, in order to obtain the characteristics of the Dharmakaya, in order to correctly obtain actions, combinations, and realizations, thereby obtaining the ten virtuous paths of action, as well as like the great Sala tree of the Kshatriyas and so on, as well as all the deities, as well as entering the stream and so on, as well as in order to show that without the wisdom of perfect and complete enlightenment, Bodhisattvas would not appear, therefore, it is answered with the special meaning of possessing the ability to establish oneself as a worthy object of offering. Among them, the four that are in accordance with the decisive part, as well as the paths of seeing and cultivation, in order, like reeds, the harm of karma and afflictions is small and unbearable; like a halo, even if encountering the harm of violent karma and afflictions like fire and weapons, the root of virtue will not be cut off; like brown sugar, even if obtaining other states, in order to cut off the lower realms, the continuous practice in the births of happy realms will not be cut off, and one will not transcend the sweetness of practicing the Dharma; like bamboo, in order to quickly realize, one is able to realize the path of seeing; like rice, it is the supreme fruit of realization of the noble ones; and how to approach manifestation, like sesame seeds, even if things like flowers are not different, but at other times, the difference of abandoning during cultivation, taking the path of seeing as the main focus, one should know that these are the six metaphors. If one asks, what is the meaning of stating the garden? Even if the differences of beings, such as the differences of faculties, are different, one should know that it is for the purpose of understanding that the kinds of warmth and so on are not different. If one examines many meanings, one metaphor is sufficient. For the time being, the word "path" is used in order to guide the previously mentioned metaphors to point to the later metaphors.

Finally, what is the meaning of mentioning the path? It is to cite other examples to know that those noble beings abide in the bliss of seeing the Dharma. If so, why are other examples not mentioned? It is to know that those who abide in the bliss of seeing the Dharma have the nature of gathering lineages through various natures. If examples were given separately, how many examples would have to be given, and one would become unskilled in approximate explanations, so the meaning of the words here is like this. Like the sons of the monks Shariputra and Maudgalyayana, completely, what is said in this way is connected to those who are in accordance with the realization that is spoken of in this way. What is the meaning of saying extensively, such as 'not even close to one in a hundred'? This is to show the difference in the number of a Bodhisattva's wisdom cultivated in one day, as well as the difference in power, the difference in lineage, the difference in cause, and the transcendence of the example itself. Among them, 'not even close to one in a hundred' to 'number' is the difference in number. Taking the number without distinction is to know that the number other than that is taken. When hundreds and so on are mentioned and become distinct, mentioning the number without distinction is to know that it is only the difference in cause that includes the number. Saying crores and so on is to know the order of many wisdoms. 'Also' refers to the difference in power. 'Counting also' refers to the difference in lineage, because the lineage of a Bodhisattva's wisdom is uncountable. 'Cause also' refers to the difference in action, that wisdom will not even become the cause of this. 'The example is also not close' refers to the transcendence of the example. Furthermore, which Bodhisattva is this referring to here? It is to the one whose wisdom, cultivated in one day, has such qualities. Is it the first generation of mind? Is it entering into practice? Is it non-retrogression? Is it tied to only one life? For the time being, the fourth is not, because the tenth bhumi is the Tathagata himself, so it is said.

English
What does this mean? Because it is close to the deeds of the Tathagata, it is called the Tathagata, but not because it has comprehended the mind of the Tathagata. The third case is also not valid, because in the eighth bhumi, the intentional nirvana is blocked, so their knowledge is far superior to all the Shravakas. As it is said: 'O sons of the king, you should have faith, you should comprehend. If the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, had not caused these Bodhisattvas to enter the gate of enlightenment, then they would have entered nirvana at that time.' What is their nirvana? If it is the nirvana of the Shravakas, then it is temporarily unreasonable, because the thought of desiring the nirvana of the Shravakas has been completely abandoned for a long time since the generation of Bodhicitta. If it is the nirvana of the Buddhas, then it is also unreasonable to abandon afflictions through meditation, this should be forgotten. In this teaching, many kinds of nirvana are established. For example, for those who have attained the peak, explaining the roots of virtue is nirvana. For those who have attained forbearance, cutting off the evil destinies is nirvana. For those who have attained samadhi, the limbs of samadhi are nirvana. For the stream-enterers, the eighth existence is nirvana. For the once-returners, the second existence here is nirvana. For the non-returners, the desire realm is nirvana. For the Arhats, it is the nirvana with remainder. Here, also taking the Lotus Sutra as a standard, just as the establishment of the nirvana of the Shravakas was taught to the great Bodhisattvas such as the venerable Shariputra, it should be understood that this is also an intentional nirvana, because during that time, the work of benefiting beings is interrupted. For that very reason, since the activities of all sentient beings are cut off, that is the nirvana here.
