It is said that practicing brahmacharya means not causing harm that makes others unhappy. This means constantly practicing brahmacharya, abandoning sexual desire, and not causing harm to others. It shows that this lineage is moistened by peaceful abiding from demonic activities. Starting from Jambudvipa (the continent where we live), one makes offerings by filling the three thousand great thousand world systems with seven kinds of precious jewels. Following the reasoning of Vajrapani (the bodhisattva of power), it is said that one is not oppressed by demons and the like. Understanding the arising of suffering means that one attains a non-distracted mind, and because the faculties such as faith are not diminished, one gains mastery over not forgetting the mind of enlightenment, thus becoming a noble being. One does not engage in practices such as mantras, reasoning, medicines, herbs, or combining women and men to gain power over women, or begging, etc. Why is that? Because one does not see characteristics in all phenomena and abides in pure livelihood. This is what is said. Among them, the characteristic of complete limbs is medicine. The single limb is grass (herb). Also, medicine is for the purpose of healing diseases that have already arisen. The antidote to prevent future diseases from arising is grass (herb). Furthermore, medicine is what enables one to obtain a suitable bodily state. What enables one to obtain an unsuitable distinction is grass (herb), which is another name. Regarding the patience of knowing the Dharma in the inferior, it is said that Subhuti, when this Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, is inseparable from the thought of enlightenment. From there on, it means that by preventing the determination of combination and subsequent combination in the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, it is understood to be the opposite of the Shravakas (listeners). By mentioning combination and subsequent combination, it means that one understands the combination and subsequent combination of the truths of suffering, the origin of suffering, cessation, and the path, in their respective order, knowing the order of before and after. Why is that? Because by abiding in such emptiness, one does not truly see any Dharma as superior or supreme.
