Therefore, the merit of finding all the qualities is that some of those who seek it are able to obtain it, some are not able to obtain it, and some obtain it partially. Shariputra, things change in this way. Through the uninterrupted practice of reason of the nature of Dharma, even if one has already taken birth, one will surely be able to obtain it, therefore, the Tathagata has spoken of attaining the Unsurpassed Perfect Complete Enlightenment. The benefits of diligent practice have been explained. Now, the obstacles to diligent practice are explained. Regarding the obstacles to diligent practice, the Tathagata has said: "There are forty kinds of faults, and six kinds must be clearly recognized." The "forty-six" mentioned here is a general term. Among these obstacles, what requires great effort to overcome is the cause of perfecting the Paramitas - great effort, and the confidence accumulated over a long period of time. This is what the Tathagata said. If confidence grows too quickly, then in the past, when practicing the Paramitas, if confidence grew too quickly, it would become an obstacle to practice. This is what the Tathagata said. There are three kinds of bad states of the body: yawning, excitement, and pushing and questioning each other, these are all obstacles caused by changes in the body. This is what the Tathagata said. "Pushing" means making fun of one's own body or the body of someone related to oneself. There are three kinds of bad states of mind: a distracted mind, and asking and listening through mutual recognition, and thinking "I have not tasted the flavor here," and then getting up and leaving, these are all obstacles of the mind. This is what the Tathagata said. Mutual recognition refers to recognizing the things that make oneself happy. Performing illogical recitations and other behaviors is also caused by changes in the body, such as explaining; or caused by changes in the mind, such as holding on. These will cause obstacles. This is what the Tathagata said. Grasping outward reasons, if one has not really entered the state, then it is reasonable not to give a prophecy. Therefore, (thinking) "I have not received a prophecy here," and for reasons such as not giving a prophecy, one will surely rely on...
