Because it is inappropriate, the aggregates and so on are like examples of dreams, echoes, optical illusions, images, and transformations. Because they are of the nature of non-things, therefore, because it harms the meaning of the examples, the mind is not timid, not alarmed, and so on, it will definitely arise as omniscience, it will definitely arise as knowing the aspects of the path, and one will attain all-knowingness. That is (what is to be expressed). Among these, apprehending things as signs is perception. That which is called "I" together with things is complete knowledge, for example, saying "I shall look at the forms of my eyes" and so on. The consciousness that manifests as the aspects of grasping and being grasped by the knower and the known, and that manifests as the aspect of attachment, is imputation. Expressing various things that are other, grasped and ungrasped, is terminology, for example, in the world it is said, "This is barley, this is water, this is dirt, it is similar," and so on. The definitive explanation of the three words "not timid, not fearful, not regretful" should be understood as corresponding in order to the three words "not alarmed, not afraid, not becoming afraid." Among these, fear of what is not a place is alarm, similar to a wrong path. Because it does not exist, it is not timid. Continuous fear is being afraid, because the fear that has arisen has not returned. Not having it is not being fearful. Fear that has become definite is becoming afraid, because without it, one does not regret. Among these, the first conceptualization of the aspect of grasping is only all things, and the second is only purified things; this is the difference between these conceptualizations of the aspect of grasping. Having done that, saying what the first conceptualization of the aspect of grasping is, that is also the second, this is connected to the previous words. For the time being, the first is also the second, for example, like all things that have become the first conceptualization of the aspect of grasping. It is only the second, but not the first, just as the second conceptualization of the aspect of grasping depends on purified things. The difference of truly possessing has been explained. The occasion of the classification of conceptualizations as described

The verses therein are: By the basis and its antidote, grasping at the apprehended is twofold. By ignorance and the distinctions of the aggregates, etc., these are each ninefold. Grasping at entities and imputations with a basis is also considered twofold. Likewise, self-sufficiency, self, etc., are the essence, and the aggregates, etc., arise from their basis. This is its meaning. Skillful means and spiritual friends are the means by which Bodhisattvas are cared for. As it is said, in terms of skillful means, proceeding from the causes of not being discouraged and not being afraid, etc., with the intention of possessing all-knowingness, one does not separately conceive of the aggregates, such as form, as impermanent, suffering, empty, selfless, peaceful, and solitary, but rather distinguishes them separately. And with the intention of possessing these non-objectifications and possessing all-knowingness, teaching the Dharma of impermanence, etc., to these is indeed the perfection of generosity. And contemplating these as impermanent, etc., without supreme attachment, is indeed the perfection of discipline. Similarly, enduring impermanence, etc., in the six elements, such as the earth element, and proceeding to distinguish them separately, is indeed the perfection of patience. Separately distinguishing impermanence, etc., in the aggregates, etc., and possessing non-objectification, therefore, the intention of possessing all-knowingness is not abandoned, which is indeed the perfection of diligence. Not distinguishing the occasion of the intention of possessing an inferior vehicle is indeed the perfection of meditative concentration. Between the aggregates, etc., and the unmixed Dharmas of the Buddha, emptiness is prevented by its emptiness, and these and its emptiness mutually knowing its own nature is indeed the perfection of wisdom. Being separated from the intention of possessing all-knowingness, from the perfections to the unmixed Dharmas of the Buddha, one cultivates and prides oneself on focusing there, therefore fear, etc., change, therefore it is skillful means, and it is taught by showing the meaning of the distinction of skillful means.
