By giving various things, one abides in the perfection of generosity, and also encourages others, praises their merits, and rejoices in accordance, thereby causing joy. This is what the Buddha said. The forbearance of knowing in accordance with the arising is: always practicing pure conduct, and not causing harm that makes others unhappy. This means that always practicing pure conduct is abandoning the desire and attachment to sexual intercourse, and not harming others means showing that the continuum is moistened by peaceful abiding and is free from demonic activities. Starting from Jambudvipa, up to the three thousand great thousand world realms, one gives offerings filled with seven treasures, and by following the reasoning of Vajrapani, it is said that one is not disturbed by demons and others. Knowing in accordance with the arising is for the sake of attaining a non-distracted mind, and for the sake of not lacking the faculties such as faith, the meaning of gaining power over not forgetting the mind of enlightenment is that one becomes a supreme person, and one does not perform spells, reasoning, medicines, herbs, etc., that control women, or begging from women, men, etc. Why is that? Because one does not see characteristics in all dharmas and abides with a completely pure livelihood. This is what the Buddha said. Among them, the characteristic of a complete branch is medicine. A single branch is an herb. Also, medicine is for the purpose of healing diseases that have arisen. The antidote for diseases that have not yet arisen is an herb. Also, medicine is what obtains a suitable state of body. Obtaining an unsuitable distinction is an herb, which is another name. The forbearance of knowing the Dharma in the lower realm is that Subhuti, when this Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, is inseparable from the thought of enlightenment. From this beginning, the determination of combination and subsequent combination with the aggregates, elements, and sense bases is prevented, so it is understood that it is prevented from the Shravakas and others. By mentioning combination and subsequent combination, it refers to the truth of suffering, the truth of arising, the truth of cessation, and the truth of the path.
