Having no doubts, no hesitation, and no skepticism about the profound Dharma; not desiring another path for it, because of not being completely perfect, doubt arises. Not being in accordance with the straight path is hesitation. Not having the desire to increase various pure Dharmas, therefore being unable to recover, skepticism arises. Possessing the actions of body, speech, and mind of loving-kindness, not dwelling together with the five obscurations. The five obscurations are: desire for sensual pleasures, malice, dullness, sleepiness, agitation, regret, and doubt. Not having any habitual tendencies whatsoever, these are the habitual tendencies gathered by ignorance and the outflows of views. Bodhisattvas, because they consciously take rebirth, are not gathered by desire and the outflows of existence. Maintaining mindfulness in conduct such as going or coming, possessing pure conduct, nourishing the Dharma with minimal food and despising enjoyment, this is called the stage of warmth. The root of virtue is manifestly superior to all the worlds, therefore the body is without eighty thousand kinds of worms. The root of purity is completely pure, the mind is free from distraction, surpassing the grounds of Hearers and so forth, going higher and higher, becoming the cause of maintaining complete purity of body and mind. Not pursuing gain and honor, etc., correctly taking up and practicing the twelve qualities of asceticism. The twelve qualities of asceticism are: dwelling in a heap of sweepings, wearing rag robes, begging for alms, eating one meal, not accepting extra food, dwelling in the wilderness, dwelling under a tree, having no shelter, dwelling in a cemetery, always sitting and not lying down, dwelling wherever. Not generating miserly thoughts and so forth, which are contrary to the Perfection of Wisdom, being steadfast in mind and profound, in order to combine with others hearing the Dharma, truly practicing the yoga of the Perfection of Wisdom. Furthermore, the emanation of the evil demon causes sentient beings to fall into the eight great hot hells, suffering.

Being controlled by attachment and uninterrupted experience, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva who is prophesied in the irreversible stage, being greatly mastered by being taught by the immeasurable, yet without confusion, saves all beings, and the mind that does not turn away from the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment is indeed the stage belonging to the peak. Furthermore, when the evil demons come to the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva as a means of taming, starting from "thus it is said," even if they have become the object of showing evil paths, they will not leave due to the causes of others, just like the example of an Arhat Bhikshu. Why is that? Because he does not truly follow and observe any Dharma that walks with purity. For this reason, furthermore, the demon shows the illusion of the path in the form of the world, such as contemplating bones, and realizes that "this is a demon," therefore he does not completely abandon all sentient beings, which is the stage belonging to patience. Not separating from the attention of Prajñāpāramitā is the practice truly declared by the Tathāgata, abiding in accordance, and from Dāna Pāramitā and so on up to Sarvākārajñatā, with the intention of never retreating, this is called the supreme stage of Dharma. There are six verses of the essence of the sutra widely proclaimed in prose: cessation of form and so on, exhaustion of doubt and non-labor, abiding in self-nature purity, placing others in this, having the dependence of others, such as giving, and there is no hesitation even in the profound meaning. Loving body and so on and obscurations, not associating with the five aspects, destroying all latent tendencies, as well as mindfulness and awareness, purity of clothes and so on, no worms arise on the body. Without deceit, the mind has been tamed, without taking or abandoning, without fatigue, possessing the nature of Dharma and walking, seeking hell for the benefit of sentient beings, not being led by others, realizing that the demon who shows other paths is called a demon, is the practice that pleases the Buddhas. With these twenty signs, abiding in the stages of warmth, peak, patience, and supreme Dharma, one does not regress from perfect enlightenment.
