It is divided into three stages: that which is in accordance with the decisive factor is the stage included in the path of application; that which is included in patience and knowledge is the stage of the path of seeing; and that which has continuity is the stage of the path of cultivation. What is that for? Starting from the part of ascertainment, it is the path of seeing and the path of cultivation. Which Bodhisattvas abide in this? They are the assembly of non-retrogression here. This is what is said, it is a synonym for "pure intention." Because it is necessary to explain its difference from the Shravakas and others, it is said: liberation from form, etc., are the signs, by declaring the manner of self-nature, abiding in the part of ascertainment, is the sign of non-retrogression, this mind. This is what is said. Among them, liberation from form, etc., is: Subhuti, all dharmas are without characteristics, without signs, without marks, it should be understood. And, by preventing the connection of the knower, the retrogression from Dharani to complete and perfect enlightenment, this is the non-retrogression of the Bodhisattva. Why is that? Because clinging to form is without self-nature, so it is declared. Among them, characteristics are included in the side of the antidote. Signs are included in the characteristics that depend on oneself. Marks are understanding that it is the cause of complete enjoyment. And, because there is no doubt, one does not prostrate to other gods, nor offer flowers, etc. And, one does not accept the eight unfree states and the things of women. Among them, the eight unfree states are: wrong view, hell, the animal realm, the world of Yama, not hearing the teachings of the Buddha, being born in a border area, the senses being dull and deficient, and being born in the long-lived gods. Also abiding in the path of the ten virtuous actions, and urging others to do good, praising good deeds, rejoicing in good deeds, cultivating the six perfections without clinging to all sentient beings, fulfilling the wishes of all sentient beings by giving sutras, etc., dedicating to the unsurpassed complete and perfect enlightenment, because all dharmas are unseen.
