Because it is the support for subduing, it should be known as all-knowing. Because the knowledge arising from thought is the support for the complete gathering, it should be well distinguished. Because the teacher teaches the Dharma without concealment, it is extremely clear. Because it makes those who have attained their own benefit rejoice, it is pleasing. Because it makes those who have not attained their own benefit rejoice, it is extremely pleasing. Because it truly teaches the inconceivable Dharma, it makes one know everything. Because it truly teaches the inconceivable Dharmas, it should be well known. Because it does not contradict validity, it is reason. Because it teaches sentient beings as they should be, it is related. Because it does not speak meaninglessly, it is without the fault of repetition. Because it frightens all the assemblies of non-Buddhists, it is the power of the lion's roar. Because the speech is vast, it is the sound of an elephant. Because it is profound, it is the sound of a dragon. Because it is worthy of being grasped, it is the sound of the dragon king. Because the sound is extremely melodious, it is the song of a Gandharva. Because it is sharp and pleasing, it is the sound of a Kalavinka. Because it is heard far away, it is the proclamation of the sound of Brahma. Because it is known to precede all accomplishments, it is known as the sound of a shangshangte'u. Therefore, the mention of sound is to be understood as the meaning of the sound of the nature of showing meaning. The mention of tone is to be understood as the meaning of understanding the language of this and that. The mention of proclamation is the meaning of proclaiming the language of that sound and that sound afterwards. Because it is not to be surpassed, it is as melodious as the voice of the lord of the gods. Because it precedes the victory over all demons and opponents, it is the sound of a drum. Because there are no afflictions due to praise, it is not arrogant. Because there is no weakness due to slander, it is not inferior. Because in all treatises on sound, it follows the nature of all kinds, it follows all sounds. Because it is spoken without forgetting, there is no error. Because it abides separately at all times in the activities of sentient beings,

Therefore, there is nothing incomplete. Because it does not depend on gain and respect, it is not timid. Because it is free from flattery, it is not inferior. Because there is no protector, it is extremely joyful. Because it possesses expertise in all fields of knowledge, it is all-encompassing. Because it perfectly accomplishes all the benefits of sentient beings, it is without limit. Because there is no interruption, it is constant. Because it abides in various forms of majesty, it is majestic. Because it abides in various forms of sound in one speech, it perfects all sounds. Because it abides in such a way that one can understand various meanings from one, it satisfies all faculties. Because it acts according to what was vowed, it is not blameworthy. Because it is well-integrated at the time of attainment, it is immutable. Because it does not speak hastily, it is not rash. Because distant and near retinues hear equally, it is renowned throughout the entire retinue. Because it can transform all worldly benefits into metaphorical teachings, it possesses all kinds of excellence. The noble Asanga said so. Because the Dharma wheel with twelve aspects is spoken of in three repetitions, and because the negation of things and non-things is spoken of, the Tathagata turns the Dharma wheel that was never turned before. Among them, the three repetitions are the noble truth of suffering. It should be fully known. It is fully known, and so on. Each of these has eye, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding arising, which are the twelve aspects. Thus, because the three and twelve dharmas are in accordance with each truth, it is said to be complete with three repetitions and twelve aspects. Among them, the eye is summarized by the Buddha's eye. Knowledge is summarized by non-conceptual wisdom. Wisdom is summarized by the wisdom of no more learning. Understanding is summarized by omniscience itself. For the sake of accomplishing what kind of sentient beings' benefit is the Dharma wheel turned? It is said that by those who know the negation of things and non-things, sentient beings enter the complete nirvana without remainder of aggregates in the three times. World Honored One, what is a thing? What is a non-thing?
