The practice of having no place and especially no attachment to characteristics is: If it starts from "If you practice on what is called a form sign, you are clinging to the sign itself," and you think, "I am practicing the Perfection of Wisdom," if you practice in this way, you are clinging to the object of focus. This is how great Bodhisattvas are not skilled in means, as it is said. The various distinctions of all dharmas having no abode, especially no attachment, and the aspect of no perception are: When practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, if it starts from "not abiding in form and especially having no attachment, and no perception," why is that? Because skillful means are fully possessed, the emptiness of form is not form. There is nothing to grasp other than emptiness. There is no emptiness other than form. From this beginning, whatever acknowledges that form and its emptiness are mutually of the same nature shows that it abides in samsara and nirvana, up to the meaning that is spoken in between. When practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, if one comprehends some dharmas, then one is not practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. Starting from "comprehending and not comprehending, and neither comprehending nor not comprehending, and not comprehending, and neither not comprehending nor not not comprehending, one is not practicing the Perfection of Wisdom," why is that? Because the Perfection of Wisdom is the nature of non-things, up to this point, the Bodhisattva who practices in this way is close to all omniscience, up to what is said in between. Because the great Dharma is patience, therefore it is patience, etc. Patience has been explained. All dharmas are unborn and courageous conduct, and the gradual great seal, etc., quickly become the cause of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, the samadhi object of focus. The distinction of the supreme object of focus of the Dharma itself is, starting from the samadhi called "all dharmas are unborn," more than one hundred samadhis and ten samadhis.

Therefore, what is said (in the sutra) is through showing immeasurable samadhis such as earth. Because the function of samadhi is diverse, what is the difference in aspect? What is the samadhi called "courageously proceeding therein"? Starting from "With what samadhi does it show the realm of activity of all samadhis?", what is said is through showing what the nature of all samadhis is like. This is temporarily the excellence in worldly dharma, a small excellence. The difference in the medium object is obtaining prediction, that is, what is said (in the sutra) is "Shariputra, any great bodhisattva who practices with those samadhis, the tathagatas, arhats, samyaksambuddhas of the past have predicted him for unsurpassed complete enlightenment," and so on. Because samadhi and so on are non-conceptual, the difference in aspect is: establishing "I". Therefore, with that samadhi, pride will not arise. "I have entered samadhi", "I have entered samadhi", "I have entered into samadhi", pride will not arise. Therefore, what is said (in the sutra) is that for him, all those conceptual thoughts do not exist and cannot be observed. The difference in the excellent object is that prajnaparamita and so on are mutually its nature, that is, what is said (in the sutra) is "Shariputra, like this, prajnaparamita is also other, samadhi is also other, bodhisattva is also other, there is no such statement." Because there is no attention and so on in samadhi, the difference in aspect is: Shariputra, that son of good family does not pay attention to that samadhi. How does he not pay attention to it? Because there is no conceptual thought at all. How is there no conceptual thought? Because all dharmas are of the nature of non-existence. Therefore, it is worldly and also the excellence of obtaining uncontaminated dharmas, so it is worldly dharma excellence. This is certain.
