It is said to be of dull faculties, and so on. The non-returning Bodhisattva is employed because the path of sharp faculties can hear and attain that ground. Speaking from the perspective of those who follow the Dharma, it is said, "Shariputra, for that great Bodhisattva, is it another Buddha-field? Having died and been reborn here from the Tushita heaven, that one will become sharp faculties," and so on. Among them, from the knowledge of the path itself, in order to abandon the nine kinds of afflictions, such as the great of the great, etc., with the distinctions of the small of the small, etc., the nine kinds of meditation paths will be explained. From that, whether it is a faith-follower or a Dharma-follower, if the sixth, seventh, and eighth have been previously abandoned, then they will enter the second fruit. If all nine are abandoned in order to abandon desire from the realm of desire or the realm of existence between nothingness, then they are entering the third fruit. In the sixteenth moment, those two will abide in the non-returning fruit, but not the Arhat fruit. Why is that? Because the path of seeing does not abandon what is to be abandoned by the path of meditation, and it is impossible to have previously abandoned the desire of the peak of existence. At that time, the faith-follower who previously had dull faculties is called faith-superior, because faith-superior itself is extremely superior with superiority, and is the reason for extreme distinction. The Dharma-follower who previously had sharp faculties is called sight-attained, because wisdom-superior itself is the reason for extreme distinction by sight. Thus, entering the second and third fruits is spoken from the perspective of faith-superior. Shariputra, those Bodhisattvas who are not skilled in means practice the four dhyanas, also practice the six perfections, and those who have attained dhyana are also born in the long-lived heavens, and having died and been reborn from there, if that in the desire realm, gods and humans
