That is the first overcoming base. Some of the great external forms are also the same. Just as applying the perception of internal formlessness in the same way, and the perception of internal formlessness, contemplating blue, yellow, red, and white, thus there are eight variations. Among them, "blue" is a term of instruction. "Blue color" is because it is the innate blue. "Appearing as blue" is because it is the blue that arises from combination. "The arising of blue light" is because both emit light and are bright. "Overcoming" means by controlling. "Knowing" means by the path of tranquility. "Overcoming and seeing" means by the path of insight. "Thus perceiving" means whether overcoming or not, because there is no perception of manifest victory in it. Setting two examples for one is to explain the meaning of colors that are innate and arise from combination. For example, "blue" is a term commonly used to describe flowers and cloths. "Blue color" refers to flowers, because it is the innate blue. "Appearing as blue" refers to cloth, because it is the blue that arises from combination. "The arising of blue light" refers to both flowers and cloths, because both have bright radiance. Having done so, for example, with saffron flowers, or the colorful cloth of Varanasi, showing "blue, blue color" together with examples is intelligence. For yellow, it is the Dongka flower. For red, it is the Bandhujivaka flower. For white, it is starlight, or colorful cloth. Because it is controlled by overcoming the object, it is an overcoming base. What is affliction? If, relying on meditation, one abides by guarding the arising of others' afflictions, and it is truly established, then wisdom and samadhi...

They are the mind and mental factors that are similar to mindfulness, because they do not generate afflictions such as desire that exist in the continuums of others, hence they are afflictions. The difference between the absence of afflictions of the Hearers and the Buddhas is this: The absence of afflictions of the Hearers is the complete abandonment of human afflictions. In cities and so on, their afflictions are that they sever the continuum, and there are no afflictions of the Victorious Ones. As it is said. For example, the Hearers, in cities and so on, do not want to look at any sentient being whose afflictions they want to abandon. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, think, "May afflictions not persist by focusing on me," so they especially look at that one. What is knowing after making a wish? Through meditation, when the aspiration arises, "May I know this," and it is obtained as before, then whatever knowable object exists in the three realms that one wants to know, one thinks, "I will know this." One makes such a wish in one's mind, enters into meditation, and when one arises from it, through that wish, one will know that object. The difference between the Hearers and so on and the Buddhas' knowing of the object of aspiration is this: The Buddhas' knowing of the object of aspiration is spontaneous accomplishment, abandonment of attachment, absence of obstruction, constant abiding, and answering all questions. As it is said. Spontaneous accomplishment means entering naturally. Abandonment of attachment means that the continuum is not severed. Absence of obstruction means entering into all knowable objects. Constant abiding means that the mind constantly abides in equipoise. Answering all questions means answering all questions that are asked. It should be determined that the Hearers' knowing of the object of aspiration is the opposite of this. What are the six superknowledges? They are the superknowledge of magical power, the divine eye, the divine ear, knowing the minds of others, remembering previous lives, and the superknowledge of directly realizing the exhaustion of defilements. The explanation of these is as it is said in the context of the instructions. Among the four individual correct knowledges, the individual correct knowledge of the Dharma is the thoug
