It should be understood that mindfulness is cultivated. Likewise, not attending to dharmas such as virtue, non-virtue, and the unstated is mindfulness of the Dharma; because the four pairs of persons are well distinguished by the nature of non-reality, attending to them as non-reality, without recollection and without attention, is mindfulness of the Sangha; from the initial generation of the mind, closely adhering to the precepts that are not lost, flawless, unmixed, without blemish, without attachment, independent, praised by the wise, and perfectly accomplished, which accomplish samadhi, we attend to them. Attending to those precepts as the nature of non-reality, without recollection and with attention, is mindfulness of the precepts. Among these, the precepts that are not lost are because they do not rely on other vehicles; the flawless are because they have completely abandoned fearful births; the unmixed are because they are not mixed with evil persons and afflictions; the unblemished are because white dharmas increase in an instant; the unattached are because they do not plant the ripening path of birth; the independent are because they proceed as desired; praised by the wise are those praised by the virtuous; the perfectly accomplished are because the senses are subdued; accomplished by samadhi are the words of the limbs of dhyana, such as close attainment. Regarding the giving of contaminated and uncontaminated gifts, attending to them as the nature of non-reality, without recollection and without attention, is mindfulness of giving. Those who have entered the stream, etc., who are born in the six realms of desire, and those who do not return, etc., who are born in the realms of form and formlessness, attending to them as the nature of non-reality, recollecting and attending, is mindfulness of the deities, as it is said that gradual practices, etc., are well established. If other sutras say that two kinds of deities should be remembered, namely Tushita and Atapa, how should this be understood? This is said with regard to unmixed individuals, so there is no fault. All dharmas are real.

Explanation of Realization Through Understanding the Nature of Non-Existence: The gradual realization through understanding that all phenomena initially lack inherent existence is as follows: In this way, through the mode of the nature of non-existence of things, all emptinesses, the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment, the noble truths, the immeasurables, the dhyanas, the formless absorptions, the liberations, the gradual abiding samadhis, the samadhis, the doors of form, the three doors of liberation, the fearlessnesses, and so forth, as well as the ten perfections, and training in great compassion, is to realize the nature of non-existence of things, and to fully understand the gradual activities and so forth. If all dharmas are of the nature of non-existence, then everything will cease to exist, and therefore it will be argued that it falls into the extreme of nihilism. If things are of the nature of non-existence, then existence or non-existence is not seen, therefore it is abandoned. Even if it is not necessary for myself, but considering future beings, I, Sthiramati Subhuti, have asked this question. If things are of the nature of non-existence, then sentient beings will not be destroyed in the unexcelled perfect enlightenment, and it will be correctly accomplished through it. Why is that? Because for those with object-oriented concepts, arrival and realization are prevented. Because invisibility is the fire that disturbs the realm of dharma, obtaining it and realization are not the same. If that is the case, then there is no need to distinguish the ten, and so forth. Therefore, the desire for manifestation is correct. Preventing the separation of invisibility from generosity and so forth. To those who meditate on the aspect of invisibility, he acknowledges their particularity. What he said is that through the manifestation of unexcelled perfect enlightenment, one will become fully awakened. Therefore, know that by doing so, the three gradual and forty-four are said to be complete. In the Ornament of Realization, the Treatise on the Instructions of the Perfection of Wisdom, the chapter on gradual realization is the chapter on the training of gradual destruction.
