Arising from the concept of "I." All of these are merely conceptualizations; external objects do not exist. Why? Because they are separate from one and many. If form and so on exist, is it one or many? This should be asked first. If it is one, then it is unreasonable to have different aspects of being grasped and not grasped, coarse and subtle, inferior and superior. Many are also unreasonable because atoms have directional differences. Having no difference is also unreasonable because it would cause obstruction. If it does not obstruct, then one's place is also another's place, so everything would become the size of one atom, and that itself would be invisible, so form and so on are invisible in the external world. Therefore, an atom with parts cannot be established as one atom, and if it is not established, many cannot be established, so many are not accepted. Alternatively, form and so on cannot be established because there is no connection. Having a connection is also unreasonable because it is not the mind itself, nor is it the mind and cause and effect. Cause and effect also cannot be established because the times are not the same. If it is thought that there is no connection, then it would be too extreme. Therefore, all objects are merely conceptualizations. Therefore, in the Dense Array Sutra, it says: "The mind has two appearances, appearing as the object and the subject, in pots, blankets, and so on, there is no object at all." The Ten Bhumi Sutra also says: "O sons of the Victorious Ones, the three realms are only mind." The Holy Lankavatara Sutra also says: "External forms do not exist, my mind appears as the external world." Therefore, it is said. So, what about the form and so on that the Bhagavan spoke of? That was intentional in order to show selflessness and to benefit the Shravakas who are to be tamed. If one realizes selflessness, will one attain the fruit of Nirvana? That only attains liberation, but not the unsurpassed omniscience, for the time being. Moreover, "Those who go to hell are not a permanent obstacle to Bodhi, but self-realized Buddhas and Shravakas cause obstacles." Therefore, it is said. The mind is also just a conceptualization, and it is not established in the ultimate truth.

Because it does not arise from self, other, both, and without cause. It does not arise from self, because what has already arisen does not need to be born again, and what has not arisen, because there is no thing, so it is not suitable as a cause. It is also not from other, if it arises from other, then whether it is constant or impermanent needs to be examined. It does not arise from the constant, because it would fall into the fault of not being able to gradually arise. If it arises gradually, then it is not constant. If it arises simultaneously, then everything will arise at the same time, and there will be no past and present. Or those who were born earlier will be born again later. If the past and the future are different, then it can be established that it does not arise from the impermanent. If it arises from the impermanent, then it will not arise from the past and the future, because they do not exist. The present thing, because the time is the same, is not suitable as cause and effect. If the time is different, it is not the present thing. Or from association, or from non-association, this needs to be examined. If from association, then it will be too extreme. Even if associated, is it part or all? If it is part, then the association is different, so the present thing is not suitable. If it is all, then it is also not suitable, because the past and the present are the same. Therefore, it is also impossible to arise from both, like blind people gathering together. If it arises from no cause, because there is no dependence, it will arise at all times. Therefore, the Blessed One also said: The arising of phenomena is conventional truth, in ultimate truth there is no self-nature, in no self-nature what is there to be confused about, that is the true conventional truth. And, in the chapter of the Saintly One Transcending the World, it is said: O sons of the Victorious Ones, these three realms are only mind, know that the three times of past, present, and future are also mind. And, in the Holy Lankavatara Sutra it is also said: Relying on mind-only, do not examine external objects. Abiding in Suchness, one must also turn back from mind-only. Transcending mind-only, one must also turn back from the absence of appearance. The yogi who abides in the absence of appearance, he sees the Great Vehicle. And, in the Holy Perfection of Wisdom Sutra it is also said: Form is also like a dream, like an illusion, and so on, even Nirvana is like a dream, like an illusion. If there is any dharma that surpasses Nirvana, it is also like a dream, like an illusion. Therefore.
