Why is that? Because the Blessed One said that the teacher should be regarded as if he were all the Tathagatas, which is the valid word of the Lord. It is also said: In the three worlds of moving and unmoving, there is no higher lama than the teacher. Through his kindness, all attainments are obtained immediately. And so on. Again, in order to specifically reveal the faults of slandering the guru, it is said, "Plagues and near harms." This is related to "Slandering the feet of the guru will lead to death." The guru is the teacher, and his feet are the feet, and to slander and revile them is to slander the feet of the guru. To die means to be worthy of death, that is, to be completely ruined. By what is it caused? Therefore, it is said, "Plagues and near harms, and enemies." Plagues are tormented by Vajra fire, water, wind, famine, and executioners, and so on. Near harms are the near harms arising from spirits, hungry ghosts, yakshas, rakshasas, snakes, and fierce beasts, and so on. Enemies are enemies who harbor blood feuds. Plagues and near harms and enemies, that is, plagues and near harms enemies. Moreover, through the word "and", it also includes virulent ghosts. What else is it caused by? It is said, "Demons and epidemics." Demons are the nine planets such as the sun, or the twelve gods who like mother ghosts, etc., because they take away the energy and strength of sentient beings, so they are demons. Epidemics are diseases, because they bring suffering to sentient beings, so they are epidemics. If these are briefly summarized, they are wind, bile, phlegm, and synthesis, a total of four types. If you divide it again, there are many kinds. Poison is the main thing, and if it is briefly summarized, it is stable, mobile, artificial, and transformed, a total of four types. Among them, the stable ones are black mica and so on. The moving ones are snakes and so on. Artificial ones are mixtures. The transformed ones are produced from discrimination. Through the word "etc.", it includes falling, etc. Demons, etc., and epidemics, etc., and poisons, etc., that is, demons and epidemics and poisons, etc. These will slander the feet of the guru.

The foolish will die. What kind of person is that? It is an extremely foolish person. Because it is both foolish and extremely great foolishness, it is extremely foolish, that is, very stupid. After understanding this, those who want to obtain good results should not slander the guru, but should only accept his merits. It is also said: The guru's merits should be upheld, faults should never be touched. Upholding merits brings accomplishment, from faults accomplishment is diminished. So it is said. Again, with words such as "king," the ripening result of slandering the guru is explained, that is, slandering the guru's feet will be killed and fall into hell. Being killed means that after death one will fall into hell and become lost. By whom is one killed? Killed by those called "King Tyrant." The king is the one who rules the land, and the tyrant is the one who accumulates wealth, protects property, and so on. The king and the tyrant are the King Tyrant. Or, the king refers to the secret chief lords such as the son of Vaishravana, and here the word king represents secrets. The tyrant refers to those who cause people to leave and torment people. The king and the tyrant are the King Tyrant, meaning the messengers of the yakshas. Fire is fire itself. Venomous snakes are those that cause livestock, birds, and scorpions to become unconscious. King Tyrant, fire, and venomous snakes, that is, King Tyrant, fire, and venomous snakes, are killed by these. Again, by whom is one killed? Killed by those called "Dakini." Dakini is a type of yogini who likes blood. Water is water itself. A thief is a robber. Dakini, water, and thieves, that is, Dakini, water, and thieves, are killed by these. Demons refer to the armies of gods such as Brahma, and are killed by those demons. It is also said: Brahma, Indra, sun, moon, and stars, destroy all those who have a basis. So it is said. Wrong guides refer to those wrong guides who are mainly Ganesha and others. Also, it means to include everything, that is, non-humans and large-bellied walkers will also be killed and fall into hell. Therefore, one should not slander the guru even in dreams, but should always make offerings. Those who slander will be destroyed.
