The essence is not empty. The nature of being unbroken and inseparable, It cannot be burned and is indestructible. Emptiness is said to be Vajra. Thus it is. Self is indeed pure self. Having known, etc., having known is to realize these or such things. All things are all aspects, or body, speech, and mind are one. The Lama is the teacher. It is necessary to please all, that is, it is necessary to please at all times and places. Why do all accomplishments follow the teacher? Therefore, the disciple who desires accomplishment should act in a way that pleases the teacher. From that complete satisfaction comes the desired accomplishment. After proclaiming reverence for the Guru, now, in order to show the place where it is truly entrusted, it is said to have pure intention, etc. A disciple with pure intention is one who takes refuge in the Three Jewels. Among them, purity is without defilement. Intention is where this mind is, that is, pure intention, and that is why. A disciple with pure intention is a close one. The saying of refuge in the Three Jewels means that if they promise to protect, they will protect all afflictions and all evil destinies. The Three Jewels are the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. These three are the refuge of the Three Jewels. Going is going. Taking refuge in these three is the meaning of vowing to take refuge in the fully enlightened Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. What should be done about it? Therefore, it is said, Guru, etc. This is following the Guru, these are those who respect the Guru. Passed to the throat, that is, throat transmission, is the scripture and meaning that dwells in the throat. For the sake of realization, therefore, one should act. Do not show off to others, but give and bestow upon those who are close, thus intending. In order to show other things to do, it is said, after that, etc. After that is immediately after proclaiming reverence for the Guru. Giving with mantras, etc., is giving with empowerment, or by proclaiming mantras, mudras, recitations, meditations, and the suchness of mandalas, etc. After becoming a vessel of the supreme Dharma.

It means that the sacred Dharma is the Great Vehicle of Mantras. To this or in this, the vessel is to be used as an implement. Having done so means having practiced. Disciple means remaining. Regarding the root downfalls, etc., because these are the main ones, they are the root, and because they are unwholesome, they are also downfalls, hence the root downfalls. These cause one to fall, hence they are the root downfalls. Fourteen is twice seven. For example, reviling the guru, transgressing the words of the Tathagata, speaking of the faults of Vajra brothers, abandoning sentient beings, abandoning the mind of enlightenment, abandoning the Dharma, teaching the secret Dharma to sentient beings who are not vessels, despising the aggregates, doubting the Dharma that is naturally completely pure, loving the malicious, views of permanence and annihilation, denigrating sentient beings with faith, not keeping vows, and reviling a woman who is naturally pure, etc. In order to clarify these fourteen root downfalls, one should also read and uphold the text called the Fourteen Root Downfalls in the scriptures. One should read and uphold. This means reading the scriptures, reciting them, and upholding their meaning, understanding it definitely with the mind. Thus, etc., the dedication of merit is taught. Thus means after acting in accordance with the order as previously stated. Following the guru means being close to and respecting the guru. How does one become like that? It is taught as all disciples, etc. It is both all and disciples, hence all disciples. Benefiting them is good, and increasing is growth. Because this has the discipline that pacifies the pain of sin, it is faultless to increase benefit to all disciples. Now, whatever good I have done, may all beings quickly attain Buddhahood through this. Among them, "whatever" refers to good, and now means now. Doing good means performing good deeds. I means we. Through this means through this good.
