Practice the ten virtues, also to prevent the increase of the ten non-virtues. What Kapila asked was precisely because of the increase of the ten non-virtues, so monks, abandon the ten misdeeds! What are the ten? Without contemplating the misdeed of killing, monks engage in bodily actions; the misdeed of not giving, touching the objects of others' forms; the misdeed of not practicing celibacy, engaging in the five realms of women; the misdeed of falsehood, speaking without contemplation; the misdeed of discord, speaking excessively; the misdeed of frivolous talk, speaking jokes; the misdeed of harsh speech, speaking unpleasant words; the misdeed of greed, harboring thoughts of usefulness to oneself; the misdeed of malice, acting wrongly towards others. Abandon the misdeed of wrong views, attachment to things. Thus it was declared. Because the ten non-virtues cease, one turns away from non-virtue and turns to the ten virtues. This is what is called the ten trainings. Then, regarding learning from the Vaibhashikas, it is also said from there: To increase the ten virtues, monks should practice in two dharmas and four behaviors. That is to say, the two dharmas, namely misdeeds and non-virtues, are not done with the four behaviors, but the increase of merit and virtue is done with the four behaviors. That is also said from there: A monk possessing Bodhicitta should always dwell in solitude, and with his mind do the affairs of himself and others, I call him a monk. That is to say, generating two minds, possessing the three vehicles, dwelling in solitude, not generating non-virtue, and increasing virtue. If one does the affairs of others with the mind, but cannot actually do it, and does not dwell in solitude, then one should practice in this way: not doing with the four behaviors, there are two: remembering in the mind, not doing with the body, and not speaking with the mouth. The body sitting on the ground, walking, eating, and sleeping. Sitting will produce faults, producing great faults and sitting, both faults will arise, so not sitting has twelve: standing, eating too much, leaning, dog posture, digging the ground, cutting grass, water, fire, dog, playing with children, abandoning dwelling in the world and among women. Producing great faults

There are two types of places where one should not reside with reverence: places that are not suitable for residing and objects of veneration. There are nine objects of veneration: stupas, temples, Buddha images, scriptures, Khenpos (abbots), Acharyas (teachers), the Sangha (community of monks), parents, kings, and elders. There are two types of places that are not suitable for residing: one should not reside to the right or in front of them. There are two types of faults that arise from walking, so there are seventeen situations in which one should not walk: do not walk with heretics, do not walk running, do not enter the place of heretics, do not walk with magicians, do not enter their place, similarly, do not walk with merchants, do not enter their place, do not walk with soldiers, do not enter their place, do not walk with butchers and prostitutes, do not enter their place, do not walk with women, do not enter their place. One should not walk looking around or being distracted, one should not be naked, one should not be bare-chested, furthermore, one should not go to places of argument, one should not go to places of fear, one should not go to places of meaninglessness, one should not walk with frivolous people, one should not go to frivolous places. Because great faults arise, there are two things that should not be done: the nine objects of veneration as mentioned above, and the five situations in which one should not walk: one should not step on real objects or shadows, one should not walk facing the left, one should not walk from above, one should not walk from the front, one should not walk stepping on the footprints of others. One should guard one's speech with mindfulness, there are four situations in which one should not speak: when residing, there are two situations in which one should not speak: due to faults and great faults, even if what heretics and others say is true, one should not speak, when answering questions, one should speak in a peaceful, gentle, and unwearied manner. Because great faults arise, there are three situations in which one should not speak: one should not teach the Dharma while standing, etc., one should not slander the cause and effect of stupas, etc., one should not tell jokes. One should also not speak lies, etc., which were previously prohibited. It is the same when walking, and it is the same when eating and sleeping. One should understand faults and great faults, and know the measure of speaking. When eating food with the body, there are also two situations: there are twenty faults, that is, one should not eat in ten postures such as standing, one should not eat while walking, one should not eat while speaking, one should not eat too large mouthfuls, one should not eat too small mouthfuls, one should not move one's cheeks from side to side, one should not speak before elders, one should not eat greedily, one should not interrupt the food, one should not eat without being full, one should avoid eating in frivolous places. Because great faults arise, there are five situations that should be avoided: one should not eat food offered to the Three Jewels.
