The Path of Seeing Thatness, by Yeshe Dorje. The Path of Seeing Thatness. Yeshe Dorje. In Sanskrit: Tattvamārgādarśananāma. In Tibetan: The Path of Seeing Thatness. I prostrate to the protector Avalokiteśvara! Peaceful and prosperous, protector of beings, compassionate one, I pay homage with reverence at your hermitage feet. May the blessings of the master from the teachings realize the meaning of the lineage. This Dharma, untouched by the dust of the feet, for those with faith and diligence who forget themselves in fear, here I will explain this Path of Seeing Thatness. This was spoken by the All-Knowing One, established according to the order of those to be tamed. First, one should give Sojong (藏文:གསོ་སྦྱོང་,梵文天城体:Upoṣadha,梵文罗马拟音:Upoṣadha,汉语字面意思:斋戒) and alms. After that, the ten places of learning themselves. Then, one should learn from the Vaibhāṣikas. The Sutra followers are also taught after that. The Yogācāra is the same. Then, the Madhyamaka is also taught. Having known all the stages of mantra, give the empowerment of Hevajra (藏文:དགྱེས་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེ,梵文天城体:Hevajra,梵文罗马拟音:Hevajra,汉语字面意思:喜金刚). Because it is taught from the Hevajra Tantra, Sojong (藏文:གསོ་སྦྱོང་,梵文天城体:Upoṣadha,梵文罗马拟音:Upoṣadha,汉语字面意思:斋戒), the ten places, and distinctions, the small Sutra, the path of the Śrāvakas, the Sutra of the Great Vehicle, the practice of Yoga, and the Dharma of the Madhyamaka, other mantras, the very utterance of Hevajra (藏文:དགྱེས་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེ,梵文天城体:Hevajra,梵文罗马拟音:Hevajra,汉语字面意思:喜金刚) itself, are praised as the path of bliss and the fruit. Among these, first, the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, with sharp faculties, should also know according to the Sutras and Vinaya. Here, according to the Tantra, those who are fortunate should accomplish it by pleasing the Lama. And also, first, this method is the complete Buddha's, spoken of as like a series of steps. Thus, one should learn the three vehicles: For those who wish to enter the two, the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, first, one should do Sojong (藏文:གསོ་སྦྱོང་,梵文天城体:Upoṣadha,梵文罗马拟音:Upoṣadha,汉语字面意思:斋戒), second, protect the precepts, and third, learn the Dharma. Also, from the Sutra Requested by Maitreya: First, take refuge and do Sojong (藏文:གསོ་སྦྱོང་,梵文天城体:Upoṣadha,梵文罗马拟音:Upoṣadha,汉语字面意思:斋戒), second, the precepts in order, third, the Dharma is shown to them. Thus it is. Refuge has seven: First, the combination of body, speech, and mind, the support, and offering to it, time, qualities, and not letting it decline. First, there are two: the Khenpo with pure knowledge, and the teacher. The combination is three: the body with respect, speech with gentle expression, and the mind pure in the Dharma. The most excellent support is the Three Jewels. Offering to the support is tiring the body with whatever offerings are available.

The time is from now until the end of life. The merit is that all past sins are purified, and all future sufferings are ceased, which is happiness. There are three ways to not degenerate: taking refuge in the Buddha and abandoning worldly deities; taking refuge in the Dharma and not killing; taking refuge in the Sangha and not associating with non-Buddhists. There are two aspects to protecting the precepts: the basis and the precepts themselves. There are three bases: arising from others, arising from oneself, and arising from both. Arising from others has three aspects: Khenpo and Acharya, first, obtaining the precepts without obstacles; second, abiding in the discipline with ability; third, being wise because one must tame one's own and others' faults, precepts arise from those who possess these three. Arising from oneself has two aspects: common and individual. The common has six aspects: the place of going is particularly superior, not just humans, but this continent which is particularly superior; the lineage is particularly superior, being the royal lineage, the Brahmin lineage, and the householder lineage. Not just the lineage, the appearance is particularly superior, just men and women; the body is particularly superior, it is not enough to just have complete faculties, wisdom and mind are particularly superior, abandoning old and young and having a strong body. The individual is that which possesses the common aspects, arising at the time of taking. Arising from both has three aspects: having no doubt about the Khenpo and Acharya, having no doubt about the Dharma and the qualities of the Dharma, arising from having no doubt about protecting and obtaining the precepts. The precepts themselves have eight aspects: the order of the precepts according to the difference of the basis, the nature of what should be learned, the extent of the faults, the method of correction, the arising of certainty, learning without a fixed time, merit, and showing the time of obtaining. The order of the precepts is learning through the order of the seven classes of individual liberation, the views of the different schools are not consistent, also, here one learns with the eight precepts of lay devotees, the four or five of novice nuns, the novice monk, and the fully ordained monk. The nature has two aspects: common and individual. The common also has two aspects: the vows of the root or nature of sins, and the vows of the branches or enactments. The individual is that the lay devotee has four root vows, which are eight. Protecting some
