arising from thought, one will die from the poison of discrimination. Thus it is said. Similarly, in the Praise to Noble Manjushri, it is said: If discriminations are not understood, there is no such thing as samsara. Therefore, the state of being free from discrimination is the very nature of nirvana. Thus it is said. And again, it is said in the same way: Discrimination is great ignorance, it is what causes one to fall into the ocean of samsara. If one abides in non-discriminating samadhi, it appears stainless like the sky. Thus it is said. And again, it is said in the same way: As long as one has not truly understood the ultimate reality, which is free from grasping and being grasped by a completely pure mind, then the minds of beings in this world, bewildered and powerless, will always wander in samsara, agitated by the winds of a hundred discriminations. Thus it is said. Thus, this is what is taught by many names, such as the sphere of reality, and it abides in what is called the non-dual wisdom that is of one taste and without birth. Question: If the ultimate reality to be embraced is only the unborn and non-dual wisdom, then why did the Bhagavan teach to erect stupas and images, and also to practice generosity, discipline, patience, and other various virtuous actions? And why did he say that from their ripening, limitless accumulations of merit and wisdom would arise? And why did he teach the forms of various deities in mantras, recitations, fire offerings, and mandala activities, etc., in order to attain wisdom? Here it should be explained: First of all, regarding why the Bhagavan taught to erect stupas and images, etc., and many other virtuous actions, it is because the Thus-Gone One, by the power of great compassion, fulfills the thoughts and wishes of all sentient beings. For children who have not realized the ultimate reality, and for those who have become objects of the first treatment, the conventional truth is taught as a means to enter the ultimate reality, but it is not taught as a way that arises from the ultimate reality itself. That is also what the master Kam

The venerable Pala said in the Garland of Appearances: "Dharma and non-dharma, asceticism are empty, Tamed, disciplined, and peaceful, Hell beings, hungry ghosts, animals, and Humans, together with the gods, The arising and future aggregates, and The three realms taught by the Able One, The teacher and the Hearers themselves, All are shown to be conventional. For sentient beings with initial karma, For the sake of entering the sacred meaning, The Complete Buddha, with this method, Establishes it like steps of a ladder. Thus, the method of enticing children, In the end, everything will be destroyed." Thus it is said. Similarly, regarding the forms of the bodies of the deities of secret mantras, and the activities such as recitations, fire offerings, and mandalas, why did the Bhagavan teach them? What was said should be stated as follows: For those who cannot directly realize the ultimate truth, who do not understand the nature of non-inherent existence, one should cause them to rejoice in the Dharma that possesses this nature, and for those who desire to closely enjoy the fruits of objects, the noble entities that have transcended the momentary cessation, and those who are separated from dependence on entities and non-entities, by being separated from all obscurations, they will realize the non-dual wisdom taught in the manner of the most profound. Furthermore, the venerable Nagarjuna said in the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning: "From what has intelligence and what does not, Completely transcending and not abiding, Those profound, without object of focus, Meditate on the meaning of dependent arising." Thus it is said. Question: Thus, in the Great Vehicle, wisdom is profound, of the nature of non-arising, and without an object of focus, although it has been taught, nevertheless, it is nothing at all, because it is without characteristics, and without essence, and because it is separate from existent things, therefore we do not know what kind of characteristic it is. This should be stated as follows: In the way of the Great Vehicle, the inexpressible wisdom is that which is separate from pointing out "this is it," abandoning characteristics and bases, is of the nature of being of one taste in Suchness, separate from one and many, completely abandoning existent things and non-existent things, profound and without an object of focus, not the domain of the Hearers, the nature of existence and non-existence...
