Manifesting various aspects. The river of thoughts, appearing immeasurable. For those with minds purified by meditation. Thus it is said. Therefore, those who are beginners should first meditate on glorious Vajrasattva and so on, and meditate on the truths of suffering and so on, and other names as well, those who have completely transformed into Mahamudra, it is for the sake of entering into emptiness, so the wise should ascertain this. As it is said: Liberation comes from the view of emptiness. Meditation is the remaining meaning. Thus it is said. In the scriptures, meditating on emptiness itself is the definitive meaning, and others are for the purpose of entering into emptiness, therefore it is a provisional meaning, so it must be ascertained. Therefore, the Bhagavan taught the meditation without elaboration, it is for the purpose of entering into the meditation of the union of the non-elaboration Mahamudra non-duality. The collection of qualities belonging to heat and so on, those that depend on it, are two in the meditation of the union of the non-duality of Mahamudra itself, these are the very union of the non-duality of Mahamudra itself manifesting higher, and the fruits of all the characteristics of definitive goodness completely manifesting perfectly. Thus the two, all the sons of the Victorious Ones. Non-dual compassion, relying on the special cause. Then others, well divided and explained. Thus, it is said to enter as it is. The common teaching from Entering Suchness, composed by the teacher Yeshe Drakpa, is the third chapter. Therein, briefly, in the first chapter, in terms of the superior faculties, it is extensively explained that the practice of the secret mantra door of the superior faculties, if it shows single-mindedly devoted to the meditation of Mahamudra and the union of non-duality, then, what is the union of non-duality of Mahamudra? It should be explained: The union of skillful means and wisdom equally. Meditation is the supreme of yoga. The equal union of Mahamudra. The Victorious Ones declared it as meditation. Meditating on the very nature of skillful means and wisdom is meditating on the union of the non-duality of Mahamudra. Thus, what is wisdom?

What, then, is (wisdom)? How should these be practiced together or separately? Here it will be explained: Whatever is of all elaborations, That is not a place or words, That entry is with the vajra of the heart, It is universally known as wisdom. Therefore, realizing all dharmas as being without elaboration is wisdom. What is meant by "without elaboration"? It is emptiness. If that is the case, if emptiness is elaboration, how can it be without elaboration? It is not, for emptiness does not indicate even a little sound. That is because the sound that says "it is never anything, not even a little" does not indicate even a little thing. The function of all sounds is, To reverse imputation. It is not the meaning of sound, But only to reverse from imputation, this is shown from others. Therefore, speaking the word of emptiness, showing the reversal of all imputation, thereby making manifest the self-nature of suchness in the minds of those to be tamed, but it is not the meaning of sound that is the action, it is not establishing only emptiness, thereby making it become elaboration. Therefore, for those who do not understand the meaning of emptiness, to elaborate the meaning of suchness into emptiness, then to clarify them with words of non-elaboration is to show suchness. Even if emptiness is already elaboration, how can one clearly realize it by knowing that it will become non-elaboration? One should not say that non-elaboration itself is elaboration, for if what is called non-elaboration has no elaboration, how can it be elaboration? It itself is also not suchness, this is not reasonable. Then, is reversing from all imputation suchness? It is not. For if reversal is non-thing, then how can non-thing exist? Because it is with contradictory extremes. That is: Non-thing is not nirvana, Where is its thing? Completely understanding thing and non-thing, It is said to be nirvana by exhaustion. Likewise: One's own thing and another's thing, Thing and

Non-substantiality itself, those in the Buddha's teachings, what is seen and not seen, in the Buddha's teachings, that is not it, not a true view. Thus it is said. Therefore, since it is the nature of eliminating the two extremes, the thusness is also not reasonable in the manner of non-existence. Question: This fault is yours, why? You say that what is indicated by the words emptiness, etc., is the thusness. If the words emptiness, etc., also eliminate all superimpositions? Answer: Although the words emptiness, etc., can indicate the thusness, it is not the main thing, why? When all superimpositions are completely removed, when the self-nature appears, with the names of emptiness, etc., the superimpositions are removed there. By eliminating all superimpositions, the self-nature thusness appears, so in the manner of things and non-things, seeing what is not thusness, one will not become manifestly attached. Therefore, with the words emptiness, etc., after eliminating the manifest attachment to it, the self-nature of the thusness appears, therefore it is called its name by imputation. From the words emptiness, etc., with the self-nature of thusness that is free from all superimpositions, it is the ultimate of self-nature. This should be analyzed, what is the difference made by those who speak of emptiness? Why? The outsiders and those who speak only of consciousness also show its self-nature, is it not established by the determination of the person who applies the term, not by his own eyes? Answer: Here it should be said that the difference made is this, those others, with the self-nature of external objects and consciousness, although there is no self-nature, they recognize it as existing. Those who speak of emptiness, even the manner of emptiness, etc., is not existent as self-nature. Therefore, those others say that there is self-nature, while those who speak of emptiness show that all dharmas are without self-nature, so the difference is very great. Question: Those who speak only of consciousness also say that there are no things,
