Even if one obtains the fruit of the path, one will cause it to arise because of falling away from that fruit. That is to say, it is said that the fruit does not perish after death. Here it is to be said that, thatness not being realized is not present for anyone, but just the uncertainty of the opposite of that is called a samsaric being. Therefore, in order to generate the correct wisdom of calm abiding and insight, one should act in accordance with it. Someone asks, if everything is realizing thatness in everything, then what is this generation of correct wisdom? It is those who perform actions that are in accordance with it. If that is so, then it is certain. If it is not so, then it is certain that it is a vajra-like samadhi because it has become stable. If that is the case, then how does it arise from the part of discernment? The proponents of thatness say that it arises merely from devotion to thatness and from faith. If someone says, how can one imagine reverting? We say that it is the absence of a vajra-like mind. Considering this meaning, in the chapter on the signs of non-reversion in the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, it is said that bodhisattvas in the state of ordinary beings and in the first bhumi and so on are endowed with the signs of non-reversion, so our teacher said. This is the teaching on the practice of the last faculty practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. Relying on the unwavering Bodhi, this has been explained very clearly. If someone cannot rely on it quickly and correctly, then what are the other paths of great, medium, and small? Other than that, what can change faster, I will explain. Non-manifest wisdom and karma mudra etc. in sequence, and being free from all fabrications, not being able to meditate on thatness, therefore, initially the Victorious One said, to understand thatness very clearly, and the cause of being without afflictions and abandoning all fabrications. Those who cannot generate thatness in the six ways as described above, for those thatness itself, that is, the cause of generating desire and so on.

In order to meditate on turning back slightly from the imputation, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, manifestly taught the Dharma. That is, liberation from imputations such as happiness, the truth of suffering and so forth are merely names, taught by the perfect Buddha, and are especially examined by that alone. For that, in order to turn back from the imputations of permanence, pleasure, self, and what belongs to self, when meditating on the aspects of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, that very suchness is designated as the truth of suffering. Then, since there is no cause such as the Lord of Desire, all dharmas are without cause. Time and so forth are the cause of the meaning of mindless and permanent things, therefore it is a single cause. Since the chief Brahma and so forth are the cause, things are the cause of change. Since the Lord and so forth are the cause, it is the cause of intelligence, as an antidote to these, four reversals are shown, namely cause, arising, origination, and condition, and when meditating on them, it is designated as the truth of arising. There is no liberation, liberation is suffering, the bliss of meditation itself is excellent, and even those who are liberated will fall back into samsara, as an antidote to these, four kinds of reversals are shown, namely cessation itself, peace itself, excellence itself, and definite emergence itself, and when meditating on them, it is designated as the truth of cessation. Because nirvana has not been attained, it is different from blue and so forth, and likewise because there is a self, there is no path with characteristics, this is a bad path, that is, there is no path, it is a path from which one will not return, as an antidote to these, four reversals are shown, namely the path, reason itself, practice itself, and definite deliverance itself, and when meditating on them, it is designated as the truth of the path. Because nirvana, which is different from blue and so forth, has not been seen. Thus, even though that suchness is of an indivisible nature, it is shown to children by the distinctions of the truths of suffering and so forth, merely by the distinction of reversals. Furthermore, impermanence and so forth
