As it is said. Furthermore, one should observe it in this way: By differentiating the stages of aspiration, etc., there are three aspects of the mind of aspiration. 'Entering' is considered the mind of action, with nineteen aspects. Among these, the mind of aspiration is divided into three aspects: That which is mixed with aspiration, having the characteristic of desiring all phenomena to manifestly awaken to enlightenment, is like the earth. That which is mixed with thought is the characteristic of the practice of the six perfections, like pure gold, because it has no future arising or present change. That which is mixed with higher intention is the characteristic of desiring to meditate on the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment of the mind of enlightenment, like the waxing moon in the manner of desiring all white qualities to increase. The divisions of the entering mind are nineteen: one mixed with application, and the ten perfections such as generosity, possessing the five superknowledges, possessing merit and wisdom, possessing the aspects of enlightenment, possessing tranquility and insight, possessing dharani, possessing fearlessness, possessing the grove of Dharma, possessing the one vehicle path, and possessing the Dharmakaya. This encompasses all of them completely. Therefore, there are four stages: result, cause, application, etc., and by differentiating the stages of action. Among these, the first three are the stages of the initial practitioner. The fourth is the stage of the part that also definitively analyzes that. The mind of the perfections such as generosity is the stage of the cause. The eight that abide together with the stages such as superknowledges encompass the stage of the result. Among these, the first protector has correctly explained the aspect of supplication. Second, entering into generosity, etc., has very well proclaimed the aspect of entering. The aspect of supplication, the mind of aspiration has three aspects, which has been explained before. The aspect of entering, from where it begins, taking vows as the preliminary, entering into the accumulations such as generosity, that is the entering mind. Vows should also be taken from a qualified lama who abides in vows and is learned and capable. If that is not available, then to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas

One should contemplate sitting in front and receive it. That is, generosity and so on, if devoid of wisdom, is not a means and not a ground. Therefore, wisdom should be cultivated, and calm abiding should also be cultivated. Without wisdom, generosity and so on do not obtain the name of pāramitā and are not a means. Therefore, one should strive to cultivate wisdom and to cultivate calm abiding. In that, whoever possesses discipline, is able to endure suffering, whoever possesses diligence and mindfulness, holds steadfastness, whenever one is endowed with correct mindfulness, that one's samādhi will be very quickly perfected. The collection of calm abiding, abiding in the three, such as discipline, sitting comfortably on a comfortable seat in a way that is in accordance with the mind, keeping the body straight, and manifesting great compassion. With the thought of liberating all sentient beings, one should cultivate samādhi, which is characterized by one-pointedness of mind. The instruction for that is this: by distinguishing the elements and so on, in all things, accurately focus until samadhi is attained. Until then, keep the mind in each moment. At first, the yogi should extensively examine all phenomena by distinguishing the elements and so on, and ascertain that all dharmas are exhausted in just this, and then entrust it to the continuum of moments of the mind. If the mind is distracted by attachment and so on, by meditating on the antidote of impurity and so on, until that is not attained steadfastly, the intelligent one should pacify it. Again, when the mind is distracted by desire and so on in the meantime, at that time, by meditating on impurity and so on, pacify the distraction, and focus the mind again and again on that, more and more. Moreover, the Bhagavan, in the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, taught that the nine types of desire are great emptiness, namely: desire for form, desire for touch, desire for the body odor arising from applying sandalwood and so on, desire for the beauty of the body arising from adorning with ornaments, desire for the color of the body, desire for the fullness of flesh, desire for the playfulness of the body and limbs, desire arising from the beauty of teeth.
