It should be applied in this way. Similarly, it should also be understood as "From this, enlightenment will definitely be attained." This benefit should be understood as belonging to the letter dharani through manifestation and consideration of other times. The meaning dharani, as before, should be understood through the power of implication. Omniscience arises from the abandonment of the obscuration of knowledge. Enlightenment arises from the abandonment of the obscuration of afflictions. Alternatively, omniscience is the wisdom of omniscience. Enlightenment is the abandonment of the obscuration of afflictions and the obscuration of knowledge. Alternatively, both should be understood in terms of cause and effect. "From this, enlightenment will be attained," this is because it is indicated by exemplifying oneself. Therefore, the Blessed One said, "As soon as one hears this image." The Tathagata Lamp refers to the Blessed One Dipamkara. We have heard the dharani, but have not received a prophecy, nor have we seen the Buddhas. Why is that said? Because it is said, "As soon as one hears," and also said, "In that instant." Here, other times are not considered either. If you say so, there is no fault. Because in this way, through this, in other lifetimes of the Blessed One, if one is accustomed to this Blessed Mother, just as it is, one will definitely accomplish this excellence in this life, this is to show that. Therefore, if that is the case, whatever one is accustomed to in other lifetimes, then as soon as one hears the dharani, one will definitely receive a prophecy, and in that very instant one will see the Buddhas, one should not create confusion about this. This shows that this benefit belongs to the letter and meaning dharani. In order to show that the benefit of this dharani is to hold the Dharma of all the Buddhas, it is said, "Whoever," and so on. That is, the twelve branches of the Teacher's teachings. Although there are other methods to know the teachings of all the Buddhas, because this is fast, it is shown with quick words. This shows that this benefit belongs to the letter dharani, and is shown through considering other times. The meaning dharani should be understood as being shown through meaning.
