That is, meditative concentration, the formless, supernormal knowledge, the samadhi of the treasury of space, and so on. What is to be cultivated is to repeatedly familiarize oneself with those things in order to make them stable. What is to be abandoned are those with outflows, because they are to be abandoned or are suitable for abandonment. The increase of what is to be attained and what is to be cultivated is to attain distinctions from higher to higher. The increase of abandonment is because the abandonment of afflictions from higher to higher will definitely be attained. Because one does not have arrogance towards conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, therefore that yogi: With the wisdom arising from listening and thinking, etc., at no time, towards conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, those attainments, etc., do not combine. In order to attain, one does not combine in sequence with the wisdom arising from listening, thinking, and meditating, because one does not combine, does not differentiate, does not manifestly aggregate, so it is said. The same should be said for abandonment, etc. Or, one does not combine with combinations of small, medium, and large. In order to attain, one does not combine in sequence, etc., so it is said. The same should be said for abandonment, etc. Similarly, one does not combine with the paths of those with outflows, learners, etc. That yogi strives for attainment, etc., and by mentioning "etc.", it includes the path of the non-learner. Why does one not focus on conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, and therefore not generate arrogance? Therefore, it is said, "Dharmas with equality," etc. Causes and conditions, or the predispositions of attachment, etc., and those that possess them, here it should be known as having equality, from the opposite side it is not having. Because they possess causes and conditions, etc., they are those with equality, all conditioned dharmas. From the opposite side, they are those that possess, the unconditioned ones. Or, those who have attachment, etc., who have become views of afflictions, and those who possess them, those are those with equality, the dharmas with outflows. From the opposite side, they are those that do not possess, the without outflows.

Those. Because one does not see the dharmas that are similar and have differences such as suffering, and one does not see those that do not have them, therefore it is not attainable. Because it is not attainable, one does not generate pride. Why is it not seen? It is said: A consciousness without an image should not grasp an object. Because the image is not a valid measure, and because it is not proper, then it is not one. For the time being, it is not proper to completely determine the difference in meaning. A consciousness without an image does not see, because there is no cause for connection. Because the image is not a valid measure. Even with an image, it is not proper to grasp an object, because at the time of experience, the object becomes knowable, so the object does not pervade the image, as in dreams, etc., even though there is no object, it exists. The image is also not proper, otherwise, the object is one, and various appearances appear. Because it is the only change of that, how can the image be true? Because such things appear. Other images do not exist, therefore, one does not see with direct perception. Therefore, since it is not completely determined by signs, etc., one does not see with subsequent inference either. Because the dharmas that are similar and those that are not are not seen in this way, therefore, the arising of the dharmas to be obtained is not seen, and the cessation of the dharmas to be abandoned is not seen either. Acting freely with what should be meditated upon, the past dharmas are also not seen. Such things are said. The increase of body and bodilessness, substance and non-substance are two kinds. Because of the nature of dwelling dependently, it is said together with what is incompatible. Acting freely with the increase of bodiless things, it is said that the increase of bodiless dharmas is not seen. Acting freely with the increase of embodied things, it is said that no embodied dharma is made, etc. As the increase is explained in two ways, the former is acting freely with the increase of what exists substantially, and the latter is acting freely with the increase of what exists nominally. Therefore, the increase is also said to be two kinds, namely brief
