The nature of the five wisdoms is pure. Holding a wooden pestle at the end signifies the complete purification of various vehicles. Holding a peacock feather on the left subdues the three poisons. Holding a lasso in the middle binds the four maras. Holding a trident at the end subdues the three realms of existence. The manifestation of the nature of the five wisdoms reveals the nature of vidyā-mantra as emptiness. Mirror-like wisdom is like a mirror reflecting the world; appearances are pure like illusions. If qualified individuals devote themselves to such vidyā-mantras, those eight cannot harm them, and they are worthy of offering. "Sbawa and others" refers to Sbawa and others, due to the glory of the queen of vidyā-mantras. "Tadyathā" means "like this," and it is the life-essence of the eight and the heart of the activity of vidyā-mantra. The secret mantra of vidyā-mantra is: Hare, Khare, and so on. "Kungawo" was spoken by Gautama. These ten great rākṣasīs protect the Buddha's teachings, do not transgress the commands of vidyā-mantra, and accomplish the benefit of sentient beings. "Those who enter the womb of a bodhisattva mother are also protected" means that they do not transgress the commands of vidyā-mantra and protect the seed of sentient beings who are the cause of bodhisattvas. "They also protect during childbirth and after birth" means that the five aggregates of the causal bodhisattva nature are protected by the causal bodhicitta. "Who are they?" refers to the ten, born from the complete maturation of the nature of rākṣasīs, who accomplish the benefit of sentient beings. "Like this" means to look at the ten rākṣasīs. The rākṣasī who robs life, the rākṣasī who delights, the rākṣasī who is reddish-yellow, the rākṣasī who holds a conch shell, the rākṣasī born from the body, the rākṣasī who eats offerings, the rākṣasī who holds a vase, the rākṣasī with teeth like kundaa flowers, the rākṣasī who hangs down, the rākṣasī who is fire—these are powerful and mighty, protecting the Buddha's teachings and accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings. Their body colors and hand symbols are yellow, black, reddish-yellow, white, and bluish-green.
