Thinking, 'Has everything been robbed?' He went inside and said to the merchant, 'Merchant, what has Gautama (Shakyamuni Buddha) come for?' The merchant replied, 'The Blessed One has come for alms. I generated faith and made offerings, and I offered the patient here for you to see.' The Blessed One said, 'A noble man will be born in this body, attain the fruit of an Arhat, protect the Buddha's teachings, and quickly attain miraculous feet.' The characteristic of the naked ones is that the naked one with clairvoyance slapped the buttocks of a naked goat, and four or five similar to the naked goat appeared. Similarly, the naked ones who resembled the characteristic spoke lies. 'Merchant, this is Gautama's (Shakyamuni Buddha's) wish. Oh, a son will be born, and if you don't kill him immediately after birth, all your abundant possessions will be exhausted, and after killing his father, he himself will become a monk. That is how he will be born. If you don't kill him quickly, those things will quickly come upon you.' Then the merchant caressed his wife's belly with both hands at night. Because of the caressing, she couldn't bear it and made a loud, unpleasant noise. Then the neighbors and relatives heard it and performed Rada (a ritual or activity), and she did not die that night. The next night, he took his wife to a house in the middle of a flower-filled garden and caressed her belly. Because of the caressing, the woman became very ill and died. Then the merchant changed his tone and said, 'My wife died before giving birth.' He also acted mournful. Then the groups of naked heretics also said this in the king's palace, or in the streets, or in the great streets, or in the villages, or in the great cities, or in the towns: 'Oh king, men, because of Gautama's (Shakyamuni Buddha's) lies, the merchant's wife, even a boy or girl, died. Because of Gautama's (Shakyamuni Buddha's) lies, all beings generate faith.' As they said, the groups of naked ones spoke again and again, ringing bells, raising flags, and going back and forth. Here, in the palace of beryl crystal, seated on a lion throne in the vajra posture. Surrounded by bodhisattvas, arhats, shravakas, monks or nuns, laymen or laywomen, he abides in samadhi. From the urna hair of the Perfectly Completed Buddha, a net of light radiates, like the light of the sun, pervading the great trichiliocosm. Completely pervading. The net of light then gathers upon each and every hair. Then, from each hair or the urna hair of the Bhagavan, a net of light radiates, shining in the sky like seven suns rising. Then, the light pervades the lord of the Sahā world, Brahma, and so on, Tushita or the Thirty-three, or the Four Great Kings, and the net of light completely pervades. The net of light then gathers upon the urna hair of the Perfectly Completed Buddha. Then, the venerable Ānanda rose from his seat, circumambulated the Bhagavan three times, prostrated with his head, knelt on his right knee, and with palms joined, asked the Bhagavan. Bhagavan, for what benefit of sentient beings? What is the characteristic? What is the cause? What is the condition? Thus spoke the Bhagavan. Then, the Bhagavan arose from that samadhi, and the Bhagavan spoke to the venerable Ānanda. Venerable Ānanda, the bodhisattvas, arhats, shravakas, and the retinues of monks or nuns, or laymen or laywomen, will go to the charnel ground, the cool grove. The youth Light-born Arhat has attained realization, and will depart. Then, the Bhagavan arose from the lion throne and departed from the palace. Likewise, the arhats also departed. Then, the lord of the Sahā world, Brahma, and the great Brahma god, and the lord of the gods, Indra, and the Four Great Kings, and the hosts of gods, and the asuras, with umbrellas, banners, streamers, and divine music, welcomed the Bhagavan.
