By saying this, the demonic obstacles of the yakshas are destroyed. In every corner of the northern direction, they cause harm in all directions of the north. This refers to punishing them with the mantra of the great emptiness. The so-called "Syad Yathe Dan" means: For whom? It is for this mantra. The so-called "May I have well-being in the north" is a symbol of my closeness. Well-being means that all sentient beings become complete and perfect. These are the superimposed punishments of the Four Great Kings and the Ten Direction Guardians. The so-called "Brahma and Indra, and the Lord of the World," refers to the gods of the form realm such as Brahma, and the gods of the desire realm such as Indra, and the ten guardians of the world, and the gods such as the Pure Abodes and the Great自在天. The so-called "all yaksha leaders, and with the sons of the seizing woman," refers to the thirty-two great powers, and the twenty-eight yaksha leaders, and the five yaksha leaders who play, and the five hundred sons of the seizing woman. The so-called "Please accept my flowers and incense, and this fire offering," refers to the Great King Vaishravana offering these for the benefit of sentient beings. The so-called "By their diligence, glory, power, and strength," refers to the magical power of these deities. The so-called "May all diseases be destroyed," refers to destroying the four hundred and four diseases such as wind, bile, and phlegm. The so-called "May I be well from fear and all harm, Svaha," means that respecting this person can be freed from disease and fear. I prostrate to you, the brave man, I prostrate to you, the supreme man. This refers to the Great King Vaishravana also respectfully prostrating to the snake body adorned with the thirty-two marks and eighty minor marks. I prostrate with folded hands, I prostrate to you, Dharma King. This refers to the Dharma King of the three thousand great thousand worlds.

Acting politically, pervading with the nature of Dharma, to that I respectfully prostrate with body, speech, and mind. The great king Dhṛtarāṣṭra also, stood up and joined his palms in reverence, this refers to respectfully bowing before the Protector of the World. May it flourish like a flower, possessing the voice of a Kalaviṅka, this refers to a face like a blooming lotus, a voice that is clear and subtle. The sounds of cuckoos and peacocks, the sounds of drums and dragons proclaiming, this refers to a clear and pleasing sound, endowed with a collection of musical instruments. Great Sage, Yakshas, Rakshasas, and sixty-four thousand Gandharvas, this refers to all beings dwelling in the eastern direction. Residing in the direction of the eastern part, causing harm to those in the east, this refers to cutting off punishment with the curse of the knowledge mantra for those who are unruly. Before the Protector of the World, all these I have stated, this refers to the great king Dhṛtarāṣṭra requesting before the perfectly enlightened Bhagavan Shakyamuni Buddha. What was requested? He requested the life-essence knowledge mantra essence of the Gandharvas and others. The secret mantra is like this: Dhāraṇī and so on. In the east, may I become happy and auspicious, Svāhā, this refers to those who are respectful to this, harm and fear will not arise in the east. This was also spoken by Dhṛtarāṣṭra, Brahma and Indra, etc., should be understood as explained before. By the power of their splendor and strength, beings are liberated from disease and fear. Homage to you brave ones, etc., should be done as explained before. The great king Āryajāta, having joined his palms, then stood up, this refers to respectfully joining palms before the Protector of the World. All-knowing, all-seeing, utterly destroying all speech, this refers to seeing the realms of the world with compassion, like a jewel appearing in one's own palm, destroying the four māras, the nature of conceptualization. Cutting off all doubts, guiding all the world, this refers to destroying the afflictions that are the nature of ignorance. Illuminating the minds of the world with the rays of wisdom.
